Use your own screws

Works great, seems sturdy. I needed this on the door to Mt garage as my 3 yr old gets up in the night and tries to let herself out. She knows how to unlock doors, get into the garage and how to open the door to the outside. Talk about a nightmare. I installed this and she learned real quick that she can no longer help herself to the great outdoors and has stopped trying. Whew. I feel safer both directions though, in case anyone should ever try to get in that way. My only complaint is that the screws provided are VERY soft and became stripped rapidly. Not a single one was able to be drilled in, even when I pre-drilled the hole for them and tried to manually screw them in with a screwdriver. I used some spares I had laying around and was done in less than 5 minutes after all that messing around. Save yourself the time and just use your own screws.

Good quality (besides the screws)

The hardware isn't the best but the locks and chains themselves are great quality especially considering the price. The screws strip easy if you're applying them to harder wood frames, I'd recommend stronger screws.

Chain is an inch too short

I liked that they were white because i wanted to use on interior doors. And they were substantial enough for my needs. But, i wanted them so the cats can go in and out of certain rooms where the litter boxes are, but the dog cant. Dog likes to eat the almond roca… The chain is too short to allow the cats to fit through. Will probably return them.

Decent chain door guard for the price, but highly recommend buying better screw.

I was immediate impressed by the weight of the unit. The metal door latch/plate has a good heft to it and the chain definitely feels more sturdy that other brands I've purchased in the past. Latch and chain feel like they could hold up to a drunken shove at the door, unfortunately I cannot say the say for the screw that came with the unit. It's become all too common place these day to purchase decent products from manufactures only to be present with a bag filled with worthless screws. The ones that came with the door guard was no exception. Two head were easily stripped, one while I was mounting the latch, the second when I decided to remove the screws in place for a different set. the head of a third screw came completely off when I was removing it, luckily it was far enough out that a pair of vice grips was used to finish removing the screw's shaft from the door. If you want to rely on this chain door guard for any kind of security measures, then I HIGHLY recommend purchasing some stainless steel screws from your local hardware store. Make sure the screws are a decent length,and that they're the same size if not longer than the ones that came in the package, but not so long that you end up going through the other side of the door. Fortunately, I had some I had a box left over from a different project and use them the same day I installed the chain guard. A dab of white paint later and none would be the wiser that the screws didn't come with the unit. Overall, it was a decent chain door guard for the price.

Gets the job done

Overall, it works fine. The crews are super cheap and get stripped immediately. I had to find a replacement for two screws that got stripped as I was installing them, despite drilling pilot holes. But for the price, I'm not going to complain or send it back, just warn others to be careful with them.
