Dickies has displaced Wrangler as my basic denim jeans. First, the fit: These are "relaxed fit", which, to me, means I don't feel fabric rubbing my legs all the time. However, despite the slightly roomier seat and thigh (handy when you're constantly squatting, sitting, bending, standing up), they're not baggy. (Wrangler's relaxed fit have gotten much too baggy in the seat.) The fit is also consistent. I have three pair of these in this size, and they all fit the same way. Some brands require me to try every pair on to make sure I don't get one that's cut too large or too small while showing the same size between them. Second, the durability: They're not Carhartt, but, at $20-$25 per pair, they're very durable and stand up well to what I throw at them. Third, the pockets: I wish this had the sixth pocket (for a cell phone) sometimes, but the five pockets are sufficient.. The back pocket holds a smart phone comfortably, and the front pockets are generous but not TOO deep. (My typical male hand fits in the pocket, to the wrist, but no more.) Fourth, the "style": I don't care about style. I certainly don't want to be associated with that sissified pansy nonsense that is called "skinny jeans" or with all that crazy stitching on the pockets. There's no chance of that with these jeans. These are "man pants". Wear them with your work boots, your sneakers, your hiking shoes, or, if you insist, your Kenneth Coles. Wear it with a button down, your camo, or the shirt with your name stitched on the chest. It all works.
