Excellent filter for competitive price

Theses water filters, even though intended mainly for use in filter osmosis operation, are great for my whole house filtration. They are of excellent quality and do an outstanding job as a particulate filter use in our whole house filtration system. When we compare the price per filter to those intended for whole house filtration, theses are a comparable cost. Therefore, we consider why buy other water filters we feel won’t do as good of a job with filtration. Keep in mind too, living on Hawaii Island with utilization of a 10 thousand gallon catchment tank for whole house water, we want the best filtration possible. We think these filters meet and exceed that expectation. The smaller of our two filters pictured is the one with the that holds the Express water filter

They work but require rinsing before you install.

Has a lot of carbon fines which requires a lot of rinsing just like the label says. I rinsed one of them in a 1 gallon baggie before installing it in a filter housing and rinsing it again, the water in the baggie was pretty dark. I use them for a pre filter in a RO system. The water goes through this filter which is a 5 micron filter then a .5 or 1/2 micron filter {I think the .5 micron removes a lot of the carbon fines left from these filters}. The water then goes through the Membrane to a storage tank, then through another coconut carbon .5 micron filter. The coconut carbon filters give the water a very good taste and remove a lot of harmful chemicals. I don't know if I will buy these again as they require more hassle to install with the rinsing and what they leave behind. I believe if a person used these after the RO membrane your TDS or total dissolved solids reading would be higher due to the carbon fines left behind by this filter.

Seem legit

I just received these, and therefore have not been able to determine their effectiveness. I did receive them very quickly. The box came secured, and each filter is I dividually wrapped and placed in a divided box. The packaging and everything is nice, but I don't care about how it looks, I care about how my water tastes. I ordered these for a whole-house filtration system. I have well water, and it is extremely ferric. I use a 20 micron filter prior to the water softener, and then I use a 5 micron carbon filter post softner for fine particulate and taste. I'll update my review after a month; i want to see if the filter sheds a lot and if it improves the taste.

These are a great quality filter at a super price

These are a great quality filter at a super price. I have no qualms about recommending them to anybody needing great tasting, pure water! Previously, I was using a carbon block "on the counter" filter . I paid less for 25 of these filters that should last for 6 years while filtering all my water (replacing at a rate of one every 3 months) than what I paid for the counter top unit that only lasts about a year only filtering the kitchen tap water. So, I removed an unsightly appliance from the counter and I no longer have tubes running to my faucet with a little button to push when I want filtered water! Cheap, convenient, practical.......... Quite a bargain :-)

I bought these for replacements in a triple filtration kit... they look great, but it will be several months before it's time to change filters out, & then several more months to actually use/know how they performed... until then, not much more can be said, so 4 stars for now.

Huge Money Saver

The hardware store wanted $50/filter!! This product is a HUGE money saver!! Still using my current order. Ordering an other batch next year!! Great quality, no smell, does a fantastic job!! Pulled this bad boy out after one month and saw a TON of sediment!! I would buy this product over and over!!

Well made and fit perfect

they are really well made and the even included two silicone disc to put on each end in order to make sure of a perfect seal. I'm really satisfied ! And for the filtering quality, i'm not able to notice any differences with the Charcoal one.
