Expensive if having to replace often

I haven’t noticed a any difference between this filter and the much cheaper GAC (Granulated Activated Carbon) blue filter that I’ve been using in the past. I was hoping this filer would help further the filtration of hard minerals present in my water used in sequence of a three filter system. My system is filtering a very hard and iron filled well water system. I have to change the filters every 3 months so I’m not sure this filter is going to be cost effective enough for me to use again. I’m only a month into use and will update the review at 3 months of use. If it lasts beyond 3 months and upwards of a year then it will be worth the purchase. As it stands it’s just to expensive to replace every three months.

Removes Copper from water

Although it does not advertise as a primary capability, we purchased this filter to try to limit the amount of copper deposits on our sinks’ and showers’ surfaces. It works better than expected. We have seen no deposits in the seven weeks it has been installed. The water flavor is fine, but we had no noticeable taste straight from the well.

system works great

I have the entire heavy metal 3 stage filter system. Have really bad well water with very high iron in the water. Installed this system Jan 21, system has worked great right up to June 1 21. No break through of red iron, but now loosing house water pressure across the 3 filters. 25 PSI difference now and can notice drop in pressure in showers. Filters must be getting loaded up, been 5 months with really bad water. I will take that. going to get on 5 month change out cycle and all we be great. Very impressed with the system, did not think I was going to even get 5 months so I am happy. Recommend purchasing if you have water problems.

Expensive Maraca…? Shake it before you open!!!

If you’re like me you bought this for it’s price. I bought the first one in 2020 and have absolutely no complaints. Now it’s been a year, so it’s time to change. Bought a replacement, and as I began to install it, I noticed that the replacement is not full. It’s missing about 2~3 lbs of media. I thought it could just be a fluke, so immediately I ordered the replacement. The replacement also came with missing media. The cartridge it’s supposed to have an “empty” space, but this space is for the cotton spacer which helps pack the media in place. When I turned the cartridge on it’s side I noticed the maraca sounds. The original was fully packed, and the 2 replacements from this vendor are not. These filters are expensive because of the KDF media, not the GAC. I can’t trust a vendor that fails to fully pack their cartridge, so how would I know that they are putting the right amount of KDF? Which is the sole reason I bought this filter for. After 2 attempts, I much rather buy a more expensive filter where I can see the media, and it’s nicely pack not making maracas sounds.

these KDF filters seem good have some weight to them close to 7lbs if I remember right I don't have iron or any heavy metal I know of in my city water so I can't say how well they work for that but seem to be a good addition just incase since I have four bb canisters to fill
