Fast and easy.
I've only used this a couple times but them couple of times saved me a lot of time. Much easier and quicker than pulling out the big processor for a small amount to chop. Best shipping also.

This is a useless piece of junk.
It sliced cucumbers with great effort, and the slices were very uneven. It shredded onion but basically broke off big chunks of onion and the prongs that held the onion broke. I had chosen this as a wedding registry item. After no guest purchased it, I ordered it, using cash from guests' gifts. What a waste of my wedding funds.

Great for making apple chips!
I got this slicer a while ago but just got the opportunity to set up my full fruit dryer setup. This slicer is perfect for very consistent, thin slices needed for apple chips. It works perfectly for my needs!

Buy & Use with Confidence
This is easy to use, as long as you follow the instructions. Easily adjustable, it does the work well. I have used it on everything from tomatoes (gingerly) to onions, carrots and even sausages. It has held up well to all sorts of use. Clean up isn't exactly straightforward since there are nooks and crannies, but do the work and it'll come out well. 5 stars.

A workhorse LARGE mandoline
This is a pretty good mandoline, best for doing large volumes, as the size of it will be an impediment for people with small kitchens, and those who don't slice vegetables in quantity. I sliced some red cabbage using the slicing blade, and carrots with the fine julienne blade, and it made quick work of them. While not quite big enough to handle a whole cabbage (for those making sauerkraut in volume) it can process, say, a half-cabbage or maybe a quarter-cabbage pretty quickly. This is a step up from the mini slicers you keep in your kitchen drawer, but it's up to you whether you have the storage space for this. If you do carrots, be prepared to have it stained permanently orange. FYI it's pretty difficult to use the julienne and fine julienne on American carrots, as ours are bred for storage and transport, which means they are very hard. It works quite well for softer vegetables like cucumber and zucchini though.
