How did this item arrive? It arrived in an extremely sturdy near (7”) square sealed cardboard package, weighing in at (2) pounds and near (11) ounces (which gives an idea how big this candle is. The package had a drawn picture of how the candle looks, the brand name, and some basic product information. Brand name? Yes, it is, “Glade” a name we are very familiar with, as it is a brand owned by another company, we are very familiar with (and very happy with their products) and that is SC Johnson, a Family Company. So right off the bat, we are very impressed with our selection. But it gets better. But first, a word of caution Be prepared to try and immediately support this product when slowly and carefully pulling this from the box (an idea would be to open upside down and then remove). Now the reason for the caution is that this is glass, and it’s big, and it’s heavy, so caution is advised. What happened to me is that I grabbed this from the lid only, and as I was pulling up, the lid slipped, and the candle crashed back into the box. What’s inside? As soon as the package is opened, a wonderful aroma of plums and berries starts filling the air. I like that scent, so was excited to extract this. The glass filled container of fragrant candle wax is perfectly packaged within layers of cardboard on the sides and top, but not so much the bottom, which only uses the boxes lids, rather than additional packing. Candle description. The candle is in a glass jar with a tin lid. The lid has a surgical rubber type gasket, likely to keep the aroma from escaping and/or to prevent air to dry out the candle. The wick and wax are both a creamy white. The wax is very soft but was not disturbed. The wax looked as if it had just been poured. Candle measurements? Above average size and weight. This is big and I am happy I selected this. The glass jar, with lid, stands at about (5”) in height and its widest diameter is about (4”). The candle inside the glass jar is 3½” tall. There is a cardboard top on the candle, which is recessed in the jar and the base is very thick too, the reason the candle measures less than the height of the jar. Candle weight The box said the weight is 16 ounce, as does this listing, however, mine came in at a whopping (2) pounds and (3) ounces. It’s slippery glass, so use two (2) hands and do “not” expect that lid to act as a handle. Candle aroma Pulling off the lid, which is secure, but not that secure to hold this candle by, and removing the cardboard top, really lets off the aroma of this candle. So much so, that I almost do “not” have to burn wick to get the full aromatic benefits. In fact, since I am sensitive, I put the candle away from me, as it’s a kind of strong scent, not that I am complaining. What is the purpose? Aromatherapy for one, along with being a kind of air freshener and mood lighting. Recommend ages Adult only. This has the potential for being a fire hazard, so pay close attention when lit. Even when it is non-lit, this should be kept away from children who may try to grab and move this by the lid, which will cause the glass jar to fall; and if this lands on a toe, there is going to be some injury. Further, the glass may likely shatter on a hard surface, posing more risk. Color As mentioned, creamy white wax . The label is a purple color. Fit & Finish? It’s perfectly made. The glass jar is clean, clear, heavy, and smooth, no chips or cracks and the wax looks and carries the aroma as if it had just been poured. The high quality of production is evident here. Any labels? There is a label on the front of the jar and a round multi-level label on the bottom, which tells some basic information about the candle, including a caution about only [burning] while you are in sight of the process. Country of origin? Poland! This candle sure travelled a long distance from Europe to wherever in the USA. Again, this candle’s wax looked and had the aroma of being fresh. Quality? Perfect. Is this part of a series? Yes, it is. There are several different candle scents and themes offered by Glade, it’s wonderful. Lighting Lighting is simple. The flame is consistent and not overly tall, nor fast at a listed (85) hours as being the estimated life, we think way longer. Analysis? This is a wonderful candle with a great aroma and modern clean lines. Value Considering the totality, large, heavy, high quality, great long-lasting burn, and aroma, and that this is made in Europe; and recently had a price reduction, indicates this to be more of a value than average price Would we select this again. Oh, yes! I hope my thoughts were informative.
