decent reacher

since the brand I've used for nearly 40 years, I can't find anymore. This is a fair substitute. It has advantages. Especially with the length. The pincher part of it is decent for picking stuff up, but sometimes you can't get it to hold properly regardless of how hard you can squeeze it. Just a symptom of how and from what it's made. If you need a reacher/grabber you could perhaps find a better type, but you also might end up with much worse. I'd recommend giving it a try for the length it can extend to alone. The construction is pretty hard plastic with a reasonably strong aluminum.

Double up...

I bought two of these. They are durable and reach just the right height for me. I still need help with the really heavy stuff, but can handle the spices and boxes fine Flour and Sugar, too heavy. Would recommend for those that have a disability. For those that don't, reaches the hard places, like under the couch, bed, etc. would also recommend.

Not what I hoped it would do.

Not strong enough to pick up most things from the floor. OK for socks, dish towels, paper, etc.. Totally failed at the morning newspaper.

I have a bad back and bending over reaching into the washing machine to pull clothing out caused some pain. This gadget allows me to do the job while standing upright. Really cool tool, works great.

Anyone with weak or arthritic hands may have trouble squeezing the trigger handle hard enough to grip onto items. This said, the item appears to be well made, very sturdy and strong. Certainly a keeper.
