more form than function?

I chose this feeder because I like a certain aesthetic in my yard. Indeed it is a very pretty feeder. Initially I filled it with Nyjer, but it is always windy at my house and by the end of the day, all the seed had leaked out from the feeder being blown sideways. (I haven't seen a single bird at it yet so I know it wasn't eaten.) I am going to fill it with safflower seed this time and hopefully because of its larger size it will withstand the wind.

Looks and functions beautifully!

So far a near perfect purchase. The birds love it !! Contrary to some of the reviews here I can confirm IT IS MADE OF COPPER. That being said, its shiny state when it arrives will persist only if you spray it with a clear coat. I did not and it is developing a patina I assume is from the acidic nature of the rain, that's ok with me. I hung it between two small trees on some rope to make it as inaccessible to squirrels as possible. Unfortunately that didn't make it inaccessible to deer and in time it was raided nightly. However once I moved the feeder above the six foot high level the raids stopped. The feeder is easy to fill, easy to clean and looks and functions beautifully. If it has a fault, it is that it doesn't hold more.

A Vintage Beauty!

I purchased both styles (Castella and Palazzo) of the Good Directions Polished Copper Bird Feeders and they are both gorgeous and appealing! The polished copper color gives it a vintage, rustic quality that is unique! They are made from all copper (which means it will naturally develop a green patina, unless you polish it), except for the plexiglass inner tube that holds the bird seed. It also has a lipped feeding tray with drain holes to prevent wastage and to keep the bird seed dry. It Holds about 1-1/3 pounds of seed, which my bird friends voraciously devour in a matter of hours (hence I needed 2)! I highly recommend both styles of the Good Directions Bird feeders it will make you and your bird friends very happy! I attached a picture of the Pagoda (Palazzo) style taken this Autumn after being outside and exposed to the elements for 8 months. It glistens in the sunshine and attracts many species of birds! So far I've had no squirrel or chipmunk visitors!

Squirrel Access

The birdfeeder is lovely and I hung it on a shepherds hook high enough off the ground And yet the squirrels were able to easily access the birdfeeder. I had even Vaseline the pole and hopes that they would not be able to get up to the feeder. However that was not the case. It is truly lovely to look at but I took it in the house because the squirrels just ate all the food.

Quality bird feeder but it does weather quickly

Great bird feeder and really sturdy, but don't expect it to keep the shine long. It weathers pretty quickly to kind of a dirty bronze finish in about a week. I still like it and am not disappointed, just a warning if you thought it would stay all nice and shiny.

The quality is amazing and it has a solid copper roof and just looks beautiful. The birds absolutely love it!!!!!

Charming bird feeder

I ordered this for looks not necessarily durability. It seems reasonably well made and is very easy to fill. It's on a very sturdy, tall pole with a squirrel baffle, so hopefully won't be tested by squirrel teeth. We'll see. I love how it looks in my garden.
