Worked perfectly

This drill and tap for 1/4 x 28 worked perfectly. There was no slop in the threads and bolts fit with ideal tolerance.

I ordered a 1/4-28 NF thread set. I received ...

I ordered a 1/4-28 NF thread set. I received a package labeled as 1/4-28NF but it had a 1/4-20 NC tap in it. I will reorder instead of sending it back because it will take more time to re-package it than it is worth. It's Irwin's fault and not Amazon's but a PITA just the same. Lets hope the second time is a charm instead of the third.

I bought this set (drill bit plus tap) for a home project and haven't used it yet. I'm only tapping into a piece of brass once or twice so the tap won't get heavy use - at this price I cannot complain. Prompt delivery Update - I finally got around to tapping the thread as planned ages ago. Opened the packet, tapped away, everything goes well, it cut nicely into my piece of brass. Only the part I need to screw into it doesn't fit. After a little head scratching I realise I have been sent the wrong tap. I ordered a 1/4" with 28tpi. Amazon sent me 1/4 with 20tpi, a coarser thread. Double checked my order - yes, I really did order a 28tpi tap. But now I've wasted a whole ton of time making the part I wanted to tap and will need to start over again. So I've downgraded for the service. This isn't Hansons fault - if you want to tap a 1/4"- 20 thread per inch hole then it's great for the job. But if you want a 28tpi tap as advertised then I recommended 1st crossing your fingers then 2nd check the product when it arrives.

Excelente juego para barrenar y machuelear.

Muy buenas herramientas, las use para maquinarle los barrenos para instalarle graseras o alemites a las rotulas de mi vehículo y trabajaron muy bien hice el trabajo sin problemas.
