Spring is too short

I like these strippers. This is the second pair I bought after being pleased with the first pair I bought over a year ago. The blades are sharp, so nicking of wires is minimal because you don't have to "potato peel" the insulation off. However, the spring on the strippers is too short, and mine was falling out constantly. Eventually, I realized that the Lock was the culprit (it would pull down to far when unlocking, allowing the strippers to open very widely and therefore allowing the spring to fall out). A ziptie tightly placed directly underneath the lock fixed this issue, and now my spring stays properly in place.

Nice wire strippers, but needs a modification

I install security systems and am constantly working on small gauge wire so I figured I would give these a try based on all of the good reviews and more so the fact that they range from 16-26 gauge. After using them a few days, I did really like how sharp they are and how well they cut the wire. The only problem I have with them is that the lock that keeps it from opening will not stay in place after numerous uses. When that lock goes too far open, the wire strippers open too far and then the spring falls out. Really, the lock should have a piece to only go so far, or at least a piece to hold the spring in place. If that would be fixed, then it could be a 5 star wire stripper. I probably would not recommend these to someone who would use these everyday on the job. If that is the case, then try the Kleins which do have a lock stop.

Great tool, bad handles

The handle is loose an it broke after a few times that I used, I like this brand a lot but is the first time that I have an issue with this brand

Luv'um

My use is in R/C modeling. Use of servo wires (22 to 24 gage) and other wiring. I only use these on my hobby and no other as I want to keep them in good shape for delicate wires. So far, I like them. Clean cuts, and easy stripping of wire, without cutting into the wire/strands themselves.

Shred wires and irrelevant AWG sizes.

I bought these as a replacement for my aging Draper stripers had seen better days, I work in AV and strip a lot of cables under 1mm, these strippers are nigh on useless. The strippers don't cut through the sheath they just sever though several cores then shred the rest. The AWG markings are utterly pointless ans they don't reflect the stripping size just some kind of made up detail. they are flimsy despite the heavy build and the blades just bends apart when stirpping any cable over 18 AWG. The only redeeming feature is the cutter is sharp although this still causes the blades to bend apart...

Quality Strippers - Great Value

Wire Stripper & Cutter (JIC-2030) By Jonard Tools. These are a perfect set of strippers for the hobbyist who needs to cut thinner wires. We have all tried with a knife blade or scissors. These beauties work perfectly each and ever time. No more cut fingers or snapped and shredded wires. They do the job

They're good and they definitely do the job on the small guage wire from 20 to 30 AWG as specified, but the spring which pushes the handles back out after you make a clip needs to be stronger. A shot of WD40 has improved the action, but the spring needs to be stronger.

I needed an affordable wire stripper for thin wires, an issue I face when repairing old battery operated mechanical toys fro the seventies. [+] Very high quality. Works perfectly each time. Feels great and light. Fits well in hand. [-] Nothing I disliked. Had researched a lot on amazon and ebay and most options were high cost/slow to arrive. This one turned out to be just perfect and arrived within a couple of days. Only feedback is to seller+amazon - it was after many searches that one day I suddenly saw this.

These are quite good.

Basic wire stripping for thin electronics wire. I like them and they work well even down the smallest wire I have tested. They cut well to and are sharp. They fit the hand well and I enjoy using them. I use them often.
