I wish I'd read more of the reviews before buying and not ignored the negative ones, like a lot of people here I usually love all the Joseph Joseph stuff, but like some of the other comments here these tongs need their own circle of hell. I was so annoyed by their crappiness after 2 months of trying to like them I literally just put them in the bin, if it wasn't quite such a gross image I was going to take a pic and share here. Today they actually couldnt pick up rashers of bacon from the pack raw or cooking in the pan, this is almost certainly the full English breakfast worlds most common use of tongs. If I'd needed to pick up sausages I'd be still hungry, that's so far beyond their ability I'm going to need to cry for an hour and seek counselling. Can they fit in your hands, no, the steel spring is so strong and intransigent, they barely close, can I pick up anything, from a lettuce leaf to a sticky cube of something the universes most hopeless tongs couldn't fail to hold, no. Can they scrape up an egg, no, they fall out your hands. I tried holding a beef joint to sear it, waste of time, my life and a £20 joint, it leapt out their non-existent grip and rolled across the skillet then worktop to land on the cat litter in the tray we'd moved into the kitchen for a reason so stupid I darent explain. They were actually useful for scraping up burnt dog turd from a bizarre accident when our Pug (called Brian) had a very understandable "accident" after stealing a chilli kebab and discovering his irritable bowel syndrome triggered, the back-spray hit the Aga and the heat bonded it more than you might care to believe, well, I guess this is pretty much the only use these tongs have found to be remotely useful. So, if you have violently explosive toiletry class accidents upon hot surfaces, I'd highly recommend these tongs for scraping duty, you are going to feel really good about buying them as you clean up and throw them in the bin. Personally I never write negative reviews but in this case I'm making an exception, it's hard to imagine anyone designing something so bad, but if they had, it's even harder to think they can get past manufacturing, marketing or customer support. I can only sit back in awe at Anyone who managed to get these through the whole process and keep them on sale.
