"Early results are positive and promising"...
My last work shoe was a gray/black New Balance with an alloy toe. The cushioning was clearly gone after about 8-9 months so it was time to try something new. I had been interested in trying Keen next and I got it for a deal price on Black Friday so it was an easy decision. I work in Asset Protection for an upscale retailer and I stand or walk on concrete floors so I need something durable with strong support and cushioning. I spend around 60% of my day on the sales floor or walking stockrooms etc. The REVIEW: The product box reads product #1022100EE -- Size 12EE -- black/black. LOOKS: -- mesh and black matte leather or pleather material (not sure which) but the shoe looks really good and appears durable. -- I like the design at the toe box which should hold up better than my last work shoe which got really scraped up and cut up when my feet made contact with shopping carts, stucco hard scape on the porch and other unknown surfaces. COMFORT: -- Feels very well cushioned and it is roomy inside but not too roomy or loose. It is not cramped at all which I like. Some shoes wrap your foot like a glove which is not comfortable for me. It makes me wonder how the shoe will fit by day's end when my feet swell up. This shoe is not that type of shoe so I am a fan. -- Walking around I really feel the support and cushion and my movements are easy and free. Although by the last hour or so of my shift you can tell that having even more cushioning would be good for my feet (plantar fasciitis) due to working on ruthlessly unforgiving concrete floors. This has been consistent with other work shoes as well. Concrete eventually wins the game and makes your feet tired or slightly achy after spending too many hours on them. WEIGHT: -- Medium weight and should prove durable over time -- Similar to my New Balance work shoes in weight, but possibly just slightly lighter -- I currently am about 7 pounds heavier than I should be and weigh 180 pounds but am still light enough for this shoe to easily handle my load SIZING: -- 99% of the time I wear a size 12 W, E or EE and these 12 EE are just right for me since I add a OTC orthotic for my plantar fasciitis. My feet are essentially normal or only slightly wide per my podiatrist, but to get an orthotic in I have found it mandatory to get wide shoes. -- I took a tape measure to measure the width and length of the shoe in various areas in order to compare it with my New Balance work shoes. The numbers were nearly identical which made me confident it would be a good fit for my feet. PROTECTION: -- I like the alloy toe feature because I have found it to be clearly more comfortable than steel toe shoes and they can be just as durable with strength coming from multiple metals combined (per my Net research). But alloy is lighter and not as rigid and tends to be more comfortable. -- In case someone steps on my foot, I kick a shopping cart wheel, or my foot gets run over by a shopping cart, I like that I am protected with an alloy toe shoe INCLUDED INSOLE: -- Good cushioning with a well rounded heel cup -- An above average provided insole -- I will use it for something else since I need my OTC orthotic in these for my plantar fasciitis DURABILITY: -- My realization after trying various brands of work shoes is that most last about 6 months, give or take. The reality is that the cushioning wears out with miles walked and standing on hard surfaces. Even if the shoe still looks good, "the feet don't lie" and will tell you when to retire them. -- My guess is that given what I see and feel, these may last up to 9 months but we well see. -- The outer sole edges are getting a tad scratched already after a couple weeks or so of usage but they are not getting as chewed up as my last work shoe so that is a plus. I still have the "Shoe Goo" I used on those so down the road I can always utilize that if I am too hard on them. If anything noteworthy changes in the coming months I will write a brief update.

Best safety shoes ever
These shoe are so comfortable and lightweight I have to keep looking at my feet to make sure I have the right shoes on. My feet stay cool and are not tired at the end of the day.

Wide. Light. Comfortable. Insole durability. . .
This will be my second pair of the same shoe. I have very wide and high (thick) feet, and do NOT like arch support. The insole cushion lasts a bit, but wears cosmetically rather quickly. Actually very quickly. However, it's difficult for me to find safety toe shoes and I love these. Of course you can't beat a pair of leather boots for water/durability, but the outside of these are durable enough for industrial areas, and they weigh less than my regular sneakers.

Not sure what to compare to since it's my first work boots
Started using this on March 27 2022, and today is Oct 22 2002, and the shoes are gone. Cant really say it's not a nice boots since the other running shoes also last me around 6-8 months. Im 143lbs, typically walk 6-8 miles a day, 6 days a week, on concrete floor. The shoes came with very thin insoles, so I bought a separate pair and slided it on top of the originals. These shoes aint breathable. It feels hot in the summer, but understandable cuz my feet tend to sweat a lot, only meshed running shoes can help me with that, but those aint accepted in my work place anymore. As of right now, there are a few tears on the mesh, but they hold up really well. And by saying gone, I mean my feet start feeling hurt. It's when the soles dont compress anymore. I tried replacing the insoles, doesnt help much. So compared to an Ultraboost (last 12months) and a nike air max (last 12months), these shoes last only 7 months. But again, the others are running shoes so...

Comfortable and fairly lightweight but they stretch over time!
I purchased my first pair of these back in July 2019 and they were super comfortable for working on a concrete floor 8 hrs per day. They were comfortable and light, not too bulky so it still was possible to drive cars with clutch pedals that were close to the brake pedal and not accidentally hit both! They’re also fairly breathable. Due to the fabric they’re made out of, over time they start to stretch so I found myself adjusting the laces to tie them every morning and eventually I could even have to re-tie my shoes in the middle of my shift because I could feel them getting lose, keep in mind this was after maybe 8-12 months after wearing them 5 days per weeks so I’d say that’s the life time of a work shoe. The other down side is, for some reason, the lace eyelets are plastic, so they eventually break which also contributes to the shoes needing to be tied more. I ordered a replacement pair a little over a week ago and the first pair I received is noticeably different, the toe edge is designed slightly different (see pics) but everything else is the same. My first pair I received already had broken eyelets and luckily amazon swapped them out with ease. My second pair arrived undamaged however after wearing them for a few days at work I’ve found that the top corner of one tongue digs into a lower section of my ankle which feels like it’s slowly bruising and is constantly causing discomfort, I’m hoping the tongue wears in and this goes away. Otherwise this is a great alternative to work boots and heavier steel toe shoes! March 2021 update: I’ve had this latest pair since September 2020 now, the floor at my work is textured and the soles & toes are showing the wear now. They’re getting less comfortable now and I’m sure this work surfaces accelerated the wear on them considering my last job had a flat concrete floor. It’s good because it means these shoes truly have good grip but a bummer they have to be replaced (on this surface type that it) every 6 months or so. Photos of wear and the floor I’m referring to have been added! I would still get another pair of these shoes!

Good, but...
Nice comfy pair of work shoes. I love the option of wide face so it doesnt bother me toes and fingers. Does not seem to be durable. At least the outer layer, which already started fading off at the toe after a couple of days of working on my knees. I dont know how long will the shoes last. Its very comfortable, but Im not sure if it justify the price.

Not wide!
I swear by keen boots, they are the only boot I can wear because of the wide width. This is not the case in shoes. I ordered a wide 10.5 and my feet are to wide. If you need a wide boot choose keen, if you need a wide shoe find another. It's unfortunate but it's reality.

Disappointing Quality from any shoe.
I wear these shoes at work, 7 hours per day, 5 days a week, half the time sitting behind a desk. The sole cushion part is separating from the shoe at the toe after 2 months of use. It is useless to pay a premium for Keens if the quality is not there.
