Battery life

Nice alarm but the 10 year life is from the date code on the alarm. Mine was 2 years old when I received it so actually getting 8 years out of it not 10 as stated. Otherwise decent product!

Does the job

We had an issue with a photoelectric detector going off anytime the shower was used in the adjoining bathroom. We replaced it with this ionization detector. An added bonus for us is the ten-year lithium battery. Our house is older does not have or require hard wiring. It was a hassle to replace batteries every year. Happy to put this one up and let it sit there for the next 10 years.

Easy setup and works

Easy setup and replacement for our old fire alarm. Just determine where you want to mount it and it activates and turn on without having to add any batteries. The included lithium battery makes it easy to setup and forget it.

Prone to false alarms at 3 a.m.

We've had several of these for 18 months and one by one we had to remove them because they go off in the middle of the night for no reason. I have no doubt they would work well in the event of a real fire, or from smoke in the kitchen. On the upside, they are very loud so you're not going to sleep through them, false alarm or not.

Super Easy Install

I bought three of these. Two I installed with electrical boxes, one on the wall in the basement. All together, took about 20 minutes. Will report back if I have longevity issues, but so far, 5 stars.

A little difficult to rate

A little difficult to rate something that only gets used in an emergency. It went up easy and, I guess, it'll work when needed.

Screws provided did not work . I should have left the original base up from the old one I had.

The screws provided did not work. Ended up velcroing it to the ceiling. Unfortunately I had purchased this duplicate fire alarm because I liked it . If I had left the old base on it would have twisted right into place, but I removed it.

This is great

I had one of these for almost exactly 10 years when the battery finally gave out. I expect this one to last another 10 years. The installation was quick and easy with very little effort. Tested perfectly.
