UPDATE!!

I ordered this Log Tote to replace a leather sling type I purchased for my husband several years ago. The leather one served us well but had become a little over-used :-) This tote was probably 1/4 the cost and should put an end to wood chips all over the floor and hearth! It IS a bit floppy, so I'm trying to work out some way to brace the corners and put a solid bottom in it. If I can work something out, I'll try to post photos. Of course we haven't had a chance yet to actually use this tote, but from the looks of it and since it does carry a three year warranty, I think it was a good purchase. Only time will tell. At this point, I would not hesitate to purchase another, in fact I showed this to my friend in Australia and she has purchased one as well. Looking forward to a neater hearth and cleaner carpet this winter!! UPDATE: Since we bought this in August of 2012, it's now in it's 4th winter of use. Couldn't ask for a more well made product! It is still going strong throughout 3 long winters and so far this year is still performing beautifully. There are a couple of little puncture "wounds" in the bottom, but it hasn't affected it's doing it's job. After 3+ winters we are still very happy with this log carrier.

7 Years and still going strong!

I bought 2 of these, but I lost one... The original that I bought in 2012 is up at my cabin. Granted this is not a daily use item since we don't live at the cabin but we get there once a month in the winter for several days and other family members get up at least once a month in the winter so it has seen some fair use. We burn mostly oak which you should know is heavy, plus various pines (Fir, Lodge Pole, etc). There is not one wear hole, tear, or loose thread on this carrier after 7 years. I hope I can find my other one that I use at home so I don't have to buy another, but if I were to buy a new log carrier, this would be the one. Highly recommended!!

Will last for years

I've had this tote for 3 years now. Pros: VERY well constructed. This thing will hold up to the elements, harsh conditions, jagged wood, etc. Keeps all wood scraps and pieces well contained in the bag. After three years of regular use, it still looks brand new. Cons: Because it is shaped like a bag it can be difficult to load. It does not stand up on its own. I often wonder if a better solution might be something that is flat, without ends. The only problem is that such a solution would not hold in misc. small pieces of wood that could create a mess in your house. Overall this is a great product and I would recommend it. I hope this review has been helpful in your purchasing decision.

Very good for the money

I bought mine January 2013, its now march 2015 and mine is still going strong. I don't use mine 24 hours a day, I would say maybe 10 or 12 times a week , 5 months a year. Actually I am amazed on how much wood this will hold, I normally use larger pieces if wood and I lay them the length ways over filling the top to where I can hardly get the 2 handles together. Every time I wonder if the weight is going to rip it open or tear the handles off, but it never does You have to remember this is a $16 bag, not a $50 or $100 bag. Length ways its at least maybe 24 inches. Its coming to a close for this season and I cant imagine this not being used next year. Hey if it last 3 years of me abusing it and for $16 bucks its well worth it to me and will get another.

Holding up better than expected!

My wife and I purchased this tote about a year ago. Wood is our primary heat source and we burn about 4 cord per year, all of which needs to be carried from outside our basement door up a flight of stairs to the wood stove. After a year of use and countless trips with a full load (25+ lbs), the tote is not showing any sign of degradation. It is not canvas, but what appears to be a coated vinyl, but is still fairly heavy. The product loses one star because, as others have mentioned, it is not self-supporting and requires a hand to hold it open while loading. Otherwise it has exceeded our expectations. I'm sure a real canvas tote would last even longer, but for an inexpensive product madeinchina we are quite pleased.

very helpful

love these bags - we now have three of them. and while we did have to replace our first one before the very generous 3 year warranty, classic accessories' customer service was awesome and it was no trouble to do so. and the original bag really didnt owe us anything as we use them a LOT from october-may and haul a lot of wood (our only heat source here in the northeast). i load the thing up so you can barely hold the two handles together to carry it so they are truly put to the test. highly recommend the bag and the company.

Seems very durable!

Have only used a couple times thus far, so don't know how long it will actually last with regular use, but it sure seems very durable, and does a great job eliminating the wood chip dribble across the house coming from the wood stacked in the basement lol! :)

really makes bringing the logs in easier

This is well made. The fabric is substantial and looks like it should last a long time. It doesn't stand up on its own as pictured; but it has enough form to make it easy to put logs in. I put it on a table or on some other logs and place the logs, etc. that I want to take in. Now I can carry 5-6 decent sized logs instead of 2-3 max without it. It's especially useful for kindling and smaller logs as you can load up the bag and get it all inside without dropping things on the way. Once inside, it looks handsome and there's no need to quickly hide it under or inside something. I highly recommend, although I would love the option of being able to put it over my shoulder.
