so far so good UPDATE: Just as I worried about, the slide off design is a good idea but now I need a new toilet seat. ANY slight movement while you are sitting will stress the caps that hold the seat in place. They 'pop' up due to the stress (like when you wipe, you slightly move your butt) and the seat then slides! Nothing can be done to fix it because you can't 'tighten' what is wrong. I just bought a regular non-sliding seat that will most likely last for years and years. another update: The right side cap keeps popping with slight movement and thus I cannot secure the seat to prevent that from happening. Thus I had to buy another seat that won't move. Smart idea, but poor execution. Your entire seat relies on two little plastic pins on each cap. The pins are maybe 1/32 of an inch that are supposed to sit into an equally tiny plastic hole. They need to come up with a better system to secure the seat.

Sturdy

I liked the product, it was very heavy and sturdy, for some reason it was very dusty. I was sooo disappointed that it was chipped in 2 places. I hate the process of returning items so I kept it and I will get a black marker and color in the chips, I pray I don't regret it and it starts chipping away. Overall its very pretty and sturdy

not as stable as I thought

Well-made seat. Drawback was that it slipped out of it's easy "slip out, remove" feature after person sat on it. Person was 230 lbs. so I don't think it exceeded its weight limit I removed the slip out feature and bought new hinge attachments, so I was able to use the seat. The seat is made of a durable wood construction covered in a resin finish.

Excellent

Though a bit pricey and also the one I received came with an inch long chip in the paint (the reasons for dropping one star), this seat installed easily and is way sturdier than a standard seat since it has 6 points of contact against the porcelain (2 hinges and 4 rest blocks) instead of the standard 4 points of contact (2 hinges and 2 rest blocks). The standard seats all seem to eventually crack in half from repeated use/weight due to the wide distance between the 2 forward blocks and the 2 rear hinges. This seat prevents cracking by adding 2 more resting blocks in between the 2 forward blocks and 2 rear hinges which makes this seat far more sturdy and durable.
