Doesn't fit like the swim suits

Why does the sizing of everything bathing suit related have to be so ridiculous. I wear a 4-6 in all of my clothes and have for years. However, I always buy a size 10 or 12 in a swim suit. They are always sized crazily. So, I bought these in a medium thinking they'd be pretty true to a cut/size I like for the pool. They're enormous. I would definitely need a size small. For reference, I'm 5'6" and about 130lbs.

Great option, but no bikini bottoms built in

These swim shorts are very cute! A nice length and the waistband is a different material ( a more stretchy swim suit sort of fabric) than the shorts themselves. I had two issues with these, the waistband being one of them. I am 5’3 Aprox 120lbs, typically wear a size 4, I ordered a small based on all my measurements and the waist band was too big for me. Not slip off large, but not fitted at all, it is however very comfortable and stretchy. I could see with a proper fit how it might be great for tummy control. The other thing that I didn’t love was that they do not have the bikini bottoms built in. I feel like shorter versions of swim shorts should always include those bikini bottoms.
