Perfect for my absolute unit of an orchid

I have an absolutely massive oncidium orchid that I can't divide (I got it online last year and it came with the roots so entangled it would probably harm the plant to try, even after soaking), and most general orchid pots and baskets are just too small. This bad boy is too big to mount, too, so I was getting very frustrated looking for a breathable pot big enough. This thing is PERFECT! Plenty of airflow, decently sized, and very sturdy without being heavy or unwieldy. I'm totally happy with this!

Does not fit in a 5 gallon bucket

I almost liked these buckets! For those of you who wanted to use this in a 5 gallon bucket and read the answer that says it fits inside, it doesn't. The handles impede placing it all the way in the bucket and are just short enough to make it questionable as to whether it will hold the weight of plants without slanting/tipping into the bucket. I am contemplating fixes to make it work for me for my hydroponics, but if you want an easy drop in and use, this might not work for you. Also, if you are using it for hydroponics, and want the roots to go through the bottom of the basket, you will have to make more holes as there are only 2 small mesh areas on the bottom of the basket.

Seem Well Made

The Laguna Planting Basket, Round Aquatic Pond Planter appear to be well made light weight baskets. Unfortunately they didn't work out for the intended project. They are as advertised though I have no idea how well they would support pond plants.

Good pond basket

I originally bought to build a dwc system. Has indentation on bottom and not completely netted on bottom. Instead I am using one to house a sump pump in my aquaponic system and save the other to use as a net basket for a filter and catching fish. Overall good sturdy baskets just didn't work for what I originally thought, but would purchase again.

Good Medium Duty mesh pot

Fairly strong plastic, decent sized holes for roots,generous depth for early root development. Seem to be a great deal, quality is VERY good for the price ! Other mesh pots like these usually average cost of $12. Handles are a bit large/ funky but not a deal breaker. Pot is a VERY dark green, no consequence for me, could be pink for all I care , long as the plants happy im happy. And, these pots will make ANY plant happy, Hydro/Aqua/Air, and they work great for SOIL TOO , if you line pots with paper towels, rockwool, or Coir sheets etc... All in all great buy, I purchased a second set for spares,$3.99 such a great price...

Working well in my aquaponics

Bought these to grow carrots, radishes and beets in my aquaponic system. Works well and all have seeds not growing in them. I like the depth of these as well as they still fit the lid of a 5 gallon bucket. Will be buying more for next year.

Used for serissa foetida

My serissa is quite happy in this and exploded with growth after repotting into it. I don’t have to worry about soggy soil and it’s easier to soak the plant during hot summers with this. Haven’t used for an actual pond but with the type of substrate that I have in it, it has held up well over a year of use and tub soaks for watering. The plastic isn’t too flimsy compared to the ones I have seen at Home Depot and such. If only there were different and larger sizes. Update 10/2020: My serissa is still in the same planter. Still does well. I was using a wooden chopstick as a stake and accidentally poked through the side but the integrity of the basket is still there. I bought a second basket this year. So far I am very pleased with this pond basket for my use.

Great for bath toys

I bought this product to use for storing bath toys in. It works perfectly because it has holes in the bottom for the water to drain. And easy to remove and lay in the sink while the shower is in use.
