Granddaughter loves it

Bought for a 2 year old last year. She is still in love with it as a 3 year old. It has taken her abuse and is still brightly colored and works well. I'm not sure how waterproof it is, but she walks around with it shading herself from the sun!

My 3.5 year old has wanted an umbrella for quite a while, and I wanted something made for children that wouldn't have any sharp metal pieces that might poke out. This one fits the bill and is really adorable at the same time. Very easy for her to open and close it as well. *Update* It's been almost 5 months since we received this umbrella and sadly it broke the other day out of the blue while we were at the park (during a rain storm, unfortunately). My daughter went to open it up and we noticed there were metal pieces poking through the top, so we had to throw it away. I realize umbrellas are not the sturdiest items but she wasn't that rough on it (she liked to open it and around around with it, nothing that strenuous). I'm disappointed it didn't last a little longer.

A little flimsy but still worth the price you pay.

My five year old loves this umbrella and she gets a lot of compliments on it. It's cute and girly without being "princess-y" It also opens and closes very easily; she hasn't had any issues with operating it. The two issues that I have are as follows: 1. I think the wings that stick out look like cat ears. I know that's a personal opinion but really, it's all I see. 2. The material on it is a bit flimsy. We've used it about a dozen times and there are already a few small tears on the top, most likely from the pressure of opening it. Water isn't coming through the top yet but I don't see it lasting more than a year. It's not a very expensive umbrella though, and it's easy for her to use, so I'm still giving it a high rating.

Great for 5 year old

Bought this a month ago for my 5 year old. She loves the colors and has played with it a lot inside so far. I've had to replace a rivet that attaches the metal that holds up the wing at the top, which wasn't a big deal, but then we decided no more playing in the house and we'll only use it during the rain! Haven't had too much chance to try it out in the rain yet, but it has kept her dry through one so far. Seems pretty durable and very easy for a 5 year old to operate. The safety covers on the metal ends are great, and have stayed on through everything so far! I like the curved handle. This is a great umbrella for kids, seems very safe and so far pretty durable! Colors are beautiful too.

For my niece; she loves it...

Bought this for my niece for Christmas. She is 2 and has begged for an umbrella for months! I love butterflies, so I was excited to see this one. She loves it. It's super cute with the ears and the colors are pretty. She just got it, so not sure how long it will hold up, but we opened it on Christmas morning and it looked pretty sturdy. I would recommend.

Cute and functional?

It's pretty cute... although not entirely sure how it's going to hold up. Doesn't seem extremely durable, but that's to be expected I suppose. Bought this for my young daughter for Christmas. By the time we took it out of its packaging a few days ago, we noticed that one of the "spines" to the wing tip was missing a peg, so the wing itself is a little flimsy. As you can imagine, haven't had much rain over the WINTER so haven't had much use for the umbrella until now. We obviously missed the deadline to exchange, which is too bad. I guess it'll have to do.
