A nice, basic skill board, but not without flaws.

I think this is a pretty basic skills board. Yes, some of the skills are on the hard side, but I think they should be a bit difficult, since fasteners on apparel can be pretty difficult at times. If these elements are too easy, it won't really be building the skills, which is obviously the point. This isn't something you will be able to hand your children and hope for the best, it requires some teaching. The zipper comes apart because that's how a jacket zipper works--and yes, you'll be putting it back together a lot. It's practice. That said, I wish the skill elements were velcroed to the board. I like that I can remove them (that makes it easy to customize which skills we're working on), but they do come off easily. I don't think it is a serious detriment, it would just be nice. Also, the fabric cuffs are fairly short, and I think just teaching the skills would be a bit easier with slightly more ease. As it is, you have just enough fabric to fasten them and no more, so the margin for error is slim. Our snap closure was very hard for me to open the first time, but is starting to loosen up with use. I'm overall very satisfied with this. My 2 1/2 year old liked working with it for a short time, which is normal. We'll likely keep working at it in short sessions for a long time. It seems durable, and the Mickey theme is much friendlier than the bear on the regular version from Melissa and Doug.

Durability is great!

My little 3 year old great nephew just loves it! It's made well and has stood up to his playing. I would recommend this

Quality that it'll last

1.5 yr old grandson loves it. Melissa & Doug have great toys! Love the wood, as it lasts. Some items would do much better wth lids or covers for toys wth pieces. But I buy M&D for quality and done well!

Great idea.... not enough slack for kids to move/learn

I love the idea. My kid loves Mickey and I thought this would be a great way to teach buttons, snaps, etc. There is not enough slack for little hands on some of the pieces in my opinion. The buckle is so tight theres no room to hold it to push the pieces together. The button was super tight for me to push through the hole and also had almost no slack to allow movement. Zipper, snap, and tie were fine. One of the rivets on the back arrived damaged and I didn't want it to pull through the front since you have to pull so had to get the button fastened. Between the damage and the lack of slack for maneuvering I returned it. My child is 3 and he was definitely interested but it just wasnt executed well.

good fine motor puzzle

My son likes to play with this puzzle. It is fun and good for the little hands to practice his coordination and motor skills with his hands.

great But....

This is a great toy for preschool and young kids to work on motor skills. the only Con is the belt on mickey doesn't re snap once you undo it. I have multiple kids that need to use it and the buckle is loose after one use.
