Great jacket for the value.

As a 14 year veteran ski instructor from JHMR, I found this jacket to be a slice of heaven on cold days. Would highly recommend it if your not into the high end shells available.

Now THIS is a quality jacket.

I was looking to replace an older Columbia Titanium Ballistic jacket that I had and loved for years. I couldn't seem to find anything in their current lineup that would match it in terms of features and durability. I thought I'd check out Spider as I have had a few friends with them over the years and they always seemed to be a solid coat choice. That's where I found this bad boy. My old coat was a 2XL and I knew it was too big so I stepped it down to only a 1XL this time. I'm 6-1 and 215 and this thing fits like a fine glove. Not puffy or baggy yet with room to move easily (plus it really didn't hinder my CCW). The sleeves are the perfect length and I love the thumb-hole cuffs! Plenty of pocket space both inside and outside the jacket with ones big enough to stuff goggles into. Built in lanyards keep your keys and the included chamois tethered securely. The removable hood is big enough and sculpted to fit most helmets. There is also a removable powder skirt inside. The insulation while seemingly thin is actually quite warm. The couple days I've been out in more rainy weather, it just beaded up and fell off easily. The quality of the fabric is good but I have to admit that's the one area I would like to see 1 notch tougher at least. I'm not saying it's cheap, I would just like it a little better. Then again I am using my Titanium Ballistic as a benchmark and that thing was all but bulletproof. It was like snowboarding armor. The fit and finish of the workmanship here are fantastic. Overall this is a great coat and while a bit pricey it should serve you well for quite a few years. (plus it looks FANTASTIC! It's so red it all but glows in the dark.)

Pleasantly surprised

Had another Spyder jacket for about 10 years but finally worn out. Decided to order this one in a size L and I am personally not disappointed: Yes the Spyder logo is glued and not embroidered but I can live with that.. otherwise the zippers work fine and no complaints quality finish wise. It's currently around freezing here in Indiana and it works just like the old one outdoors; as we now quality has a price but this delivers and I consider it amongst the best there is.

Best Ski Jacket on the market

I bought what I thought was going to be a nice thick ski jacket from Amazon for $60, but after wearing it a few times realized it was not going to hold up after hitting the mountains a few times. I decided to go with this, even though it's super expensive. But it's an investment, and one that's totally worth it. This jacket kept me so comfortably warm all day on with just an underarmour base layer, and a thin overshirt as a middle layer, with weather high of 16 F, and low of 7 F. It fits like a dream and and has all the perks you would want from a ski jacket, not to mention how awesome it looks. If you're planning on skiing for years to come, this is everything you could want out of a ski jacket.

I love this jacket. It's the perfect winter jacket, with lots of pockets.

What I didn't like about the jacket wasn't the jacket itself, but the fact that the product has smudges of dirt on it when I unpacked it. The smudges had to have occurred prior to being shipped as the jacket was securely encased in plastic packaging. And, while the dirt was easily removable, such carelessness is entirely unacceptable.

Spider's best selling jacket

Great jacket for the price. Excellent choice, very warm and stylish. Lots of features...same as for last 8 years or so. Only thing that has changed is using Primaloft instead of Thinsulate for insulation. Delivery was fast. Size was good. I am 5'10 and 165 lbs. Medium fits snug...think large would've been to baggy. Very pleased with choice.

Amazon has a terrific return policy. Couldn't be easier.

This is a perfect ski jacket but unfortunately they were out of my size and had to return the size ordered too tight but with Amazon return system I will definately shop Amazon for my proper large size.
