Shoes are different for everyone!

I'm on about my 15th pair of these in 8 years or so. Shoes are different for everyone, and I switched to these after trying similar brooks and asics models. They've stuck! For a tall, lean runner (190 lbs), I get about 500-600 miles a pair so they last just a little more than half a year. The model shifts over the years haven't created any problems for me. I switched from the standard version to the mesh top a few pairs ago and I love how light and airy they are. The only drawback is that once they're no longer good for running, they don't hold up quite as well in their second life (hiking/biking/yard work) as the ones with a more structured upper. No matter, I go through them fast enough that there's always a spare pair around somewhere.

Mizuno Men's Wave Rider 24 Running Shoes are comfortable and lightweight

Mizuno makes excellent, reliable running shoes and their classic Wave Rider running shoe is no exception. They're springy but still supportive. Compared to their Wave Inspire line, which I also like, these don't prioritize stability and they are lighter in weight. I also like the colorways.

Wear and tear

I use these at work primarily. After kneeing, the material at the toes frayed and broke down. They still hold up, but arent pretty. Carpet was enough to cause a little damage.

Improvement over Wave Rider 23

I've run on the Wave Rider series for 15 years, and the 24 is the best yet. Lighter than the 23 but with the stability and support that you would expect. Cushioning seems better as well.

Delaminated after 25 miles

For the past 6 years I have been running in Mizuno Waveriders. This pair of knit WR24 have been one of the most comfortable pairs I’ve had. Unfortunately the sole under the right toe started delaminating after a couple of runs. Not sure if this is specific to this model or indicative of an issue across the line.

Updated Jan 2021: Same issue as the WaveRider 23... the inside left heel fabric tore open. There’s something going on with the heel flex point and the hard plastic “heel cup” where the fabric catches and tears. ???? this hopefully gets reinforced/ fixed on the next gen design. I untie and loosen laces - so it’s not from me forcing my foot into the shoe. = = = = = = = Brand new to me this week. First couple runs = same perfect fit. I noticed these are a touch more narrow than previous models, but still a generous toe box with good flexibility... no rub spots. They feel good - as they should. Laces are short if you tie them with the back eyelet like I do - but that’s trivial. 5-star in my book. I’ll update this after additional mileage.

If they have your size buy this Mizuno shoes. I have tried all brands Asics, Nike, Saucony, Brooks, New Balance and Mizuno is by far the best brand. I bought 6-7 pairs over the last 2 years, and run 4-5 times a week (did 2100KM in 2021) but get a new pair every 550KM. Lightweight, all-weather and comfortable, especially if you have a wide foot, with solid foam. For neutral and overpronator and for all distances

Comfortable and nice looking

Enjoyed running in the shoe. Nicely cushioned, good design, and does not seem to be a concern for overpronation.

Great support and comfort

A good well balanced trainer that takes a day or two to settle on the foot but then creates a great vision springboard

Fits for high volume feet

I suffer from neuropathy and i am extremely feet sensitive. I have a high volume feet, wide with high instep. I must secure my feet with very little tension in my laces and the Mizuno fit me well. Good shock absorption and v shaped cup heel and strong arch support secures my feet. Would buy again. Wears well.

Not the best changes .

A bit disappointed with this pair, have been buying waveriders for a while, this is the worst so far. Achilles notch taken out for some reason, and now it hits my Achilles and the fit has become poor. Bounce is not as good as previous editions. Becuase they don't last and you have to replace annually and price has yet again gone up, so expensive I would expect better. This colour of blue is a bit old fashioned, but that is my opinion others may like it.
