Great if the kids would keep them on
My grandson is autistic and noise really bothers him. I purchased these plus noise cancelling headphones for him. He wouldn't keep them on though. I had my daughter try them and she said they block noise pretty well. If I can get him to keep them on, it would be an excellent purchase

Recommended item
These are a great item to protect the little one's hearing. As a Hearing Impaired person I think anything to protect a child's hearing is wonderful, if this had been around when I was a child maybe my own hearing wouldn't have been damaged so I appreciate the importance of this item. With that said, all of the grandkids and other babies/toddlers in my life are able to wear this so that would be ages ranging from 1y-5y. The kids who were able to communicate said that it "made noises softer" and the babies looked confused and thought it was funny to not hear as well apparently because confusion turned to giggles when we talked. They stay on the kids heads well enough but of course the older kids kept them on easier than the younger ones did. They look nice and they are comfortable enough for the kids so I am impressed with how they look and function. 4 stars!

Not noise cancelling
- first the title is a little misleading, in my opinion "noise cancelling" usually implies a battery operated device that actually cancels the noise out. This is, as the rest of the title says, a noise reduction ear protection device for children - the package suggests this product is for 18 month and older. with the size of the item this makes perfect sense - they fit okay, feel a bit awkward around the ears at times - they do adjust a little bit - when taking the headphones off they like to spring back into a compressed shape (see picture). this can make it awkward at times when the headphones are halfway off of the head - it does reduce noise intake for the ears, but still leaves certain frequencies to seem like they are ringing in the ear, which is not always pleasant - this is a decent product but not one I would purchase a second time. (we have a different set of noise reduction ear protection for children that is equal or lesser in price that fits better, seals better around the ears and leaves the child content with loud noises)

Really Dampen Noise. Adjustment a Little Annoying.
These definitely work well to dampen the noise. I put them on my 4 yr old daughter and she started talking very loudly because she couldn't hear herself as well. There was a thunderstorm and she didn't even notice when she was wearing them. The adjustment is a little annoying. The padded strip wants to slide out of place when you try to adjust them. Also the headphones are attached by a swivel type holder and it's a bit irritating to get them to stay in the position you want when you're holding them out to slip on your child's head. Once on, they're fine.

Mid-tier sound canceling
The construction materials are reasonably nice. The fit is good (and adjustable) and the fit is both relatively secure and comfortable. If you need something to take your kid to fireworks, a concert that is not a sonic assault, a monster truck show, etc. Or to help them focus on their homework in a noisy environment. And they can be a godsend if your child is on the spectrum and would like some quiet in a public place. That said, they are not tremendously effective. I can still make out sound when I wear them, even normal conversations, but it is very muted, and I have to watch people talk so that I can sound out the words.

very good noise reduction
By saying noise cancelling, I was expecting some kind of active electronic cancelling. It seems like a deceptive way to get your product into searches with noise cancelling. These do seem to have very good noise reduction, but I don't think I would call it "cancelling".

Good Product/Child might need practice applying them.
The only reason for the three stars is that my four year old has a hard time getting them on himself due to the way they're collapsible. Attempting to use them they closed shut and hurt his lip. But that doesn't mean this isn't an excellent product because it is. It was only his first day trying them out. I put them on and they are very comfortable and work really good.
