Great meal set

I bought this for my 14 month old son for Christmas. He has difficulty passing his food intake, aka he chokes a lot... I thought this might help slow him down as they use similar bowls for dogs who eat to fast, HAHA! He still had choking episodes with it, so we dont use the plate, but he does use the spoon and fork. The cup is fantastic, he picked up on it quickly. He uses straw cups and sippy style cups with no issue. The cup does overflow with temperature change, cold liquids becoming room temperature.

Perfect little eating set!

Got this for my toddler and we love it! We use all items every day and they have held up super well after many trips through the dishwasher!

Adorable set, great for gifting

This set comes in a very fun box with a handle that would make it great for a gift! It is best for a child who is at least one year. I have used the set with my 18-month-old daughter. First, I absolutely love the smiley face plate! It is nice that it has the extra walls with the smile to help the child scoot pieces onto their utensils. It does have a very strong suction grip on the bottom, better than any other suction plates I've had, however, my daughter can still pull it off when she really wants to. The utensils have thick handles which makes it easy for a young child to grip them, but I wish the spoon was a little more rounded so it was easier for my child to get food into it. I also realized today that you do need to be careful with warm food as the metal utensils will get hot when placed in warmer foods. I am a huge fan of the straw cups with the 360-degree straws. These are awesome with children still learning how to properly use water bottles. I use this style of cup with my daughter all the time. It was very easy to take apart and wash and she is able to get every last sip out with the straw. Overall this is a very nice and fun set for a toddler. I would definitely recommend it!

Fun Set

This is very adorable set that is likely to catch the eye of many toddlers. It certainly did for mine. The fork and spoon are easy for little hands to hold. All of the edges on the plate help the little ones learn how to scoop without having to scrap their food all the way across the plate. The plate does suction very well to the table which is good; however, if the little one tries to move the plate it also can make the whole table shake. The gift box is a fun idea and a really nice way to make a practical gift something that is also fun. The sippy cup is easy to hold and operate for little hands. There are a lot of parts to the sippy cup. Generally, I like a sippy cup that has less pieces and therefore less places for moisture to get stuck. The sippy cup does come with a straw cleaner though. None of the items are dishwasher safe. So depending on how you prefer to wash your dishes, this may or may not be an inconvenience. Overall, this in an adorable set that is a great way to start your little off eating on their own.

Cute & Durable Set...

This is my initial review for the Munchkin Be Happy Toddler Dining Set and I'll continue updating it as I use it. My child is 23 months and is extremely independent, but not very coordinated. Before trying this set we really struggled to find a meal set that worked for him, but this has fit our needs perfectly. The high edges on the smiley Face suction plate stay in place well. The color catches his interest, while the design mimics adult serving pieces. The cup seemed a little small, but he really likes it and it works well when we use it for milk with a meal. The cup is also a favorite for snacks as it’s a good fit for him to carry around and has a wide top edge. Pros: Very sturdy and well made The color is vibrant and fun Easy to use and good size for little hands smiley Face suction plate stay put and make self-feeding easier. (This stays in place better and is much more functional than the $14.99 dinosaur suction plate I bought.) Silverware is the perfect size for our toddler. Also the fork and knife are not sharp enough to risk cuts. Cons: $19.99 as the time of writing this review seems just a tad high for this set, however the cost would not stop me from purchasing additional sets. Other: The cup appears to hold 7oz, but practically holds between 5-6 oz. The cup also flows fairly fast, even with the lid on. / We haven’t used the tray portion yet, the tiny human does not like things separated atm. Rating: I struggled between rating this 4 or 5 stars, as I can a list few cons on the set, but I think it deserves a 5. We have used this set every day since we received it, and will be purchasing additional ones as well as recommending the set to friends. Overall, I am very happy with this set and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Great set !

Love this smiley plate set! These suction plates are slightly heavier duty and have a much better suction than some of the other Munchkin products. The sippy cup is great since it has a weighted straw and does not leak. Cleaning the straw section can be a little difficult, but there is a small brush included. We have used the miracle 360 sippy cup and I prefer this one over it since my son has figured out how to pull off the silicone top causing it to leak all over. The utensils have a bulkier handle designed for easy gripping and my toddler has no problem using them. The only thing I wish was that these plates had the option to purchase with divided sections. While the smiley design is cute and my son loves, it is helpful if you have a difficult toddler who does not like their food touching. Few things I noticed, the smiley plate is not dish wash safe. Not a dealbreaker, but I prefer a dish that can easily be tossed in the dishwasher instead of hand washed each time. This design is BPA free as to the old version of munchkin suction plates are not.
