Embarassed to give as gift

Looked and sounded great in the pictures online so I bought it as a gift to give to my boss who is a dancer. In the non padded, plastic mailing bag, it was wrapped in paper. No box. Also, no booklet, authenticity papers, certificate, etc., no Nat Geo or NOVICA mention anywhere. Just a very light, sculpture, barely 3 dimensional, piece of wood(?) - (felt more like a hollow resin or plastic) Due to the lack of weight and the height, 12", vs thickness, 1 3/4" - in my opinion, it would easily fall over if placed anywhere near movement, like walking by a table it may be on. SO disappointed as I thought I found a unique gift that would impress. Returned it.
