Folds and thus fits in a drawer !

Just like the product description indicates the grader can be positioned to grade directly into a bowl. Easy to clean. Two different grading sides are great for basic grading. Stores in a small space.

Great Oxo product

This is a really useful grater that gets uses a lot in our kitchen. My only issue is the handle where the plates slide in has an uneven surface and make it a little bit hard to clean.

This is an alternative to a box grater which lays flat in most any drawer. For my needs, this is awesome. Pros: OXO Good Grips quality. For those who don't know, OXO started out from the idea that a rubber bicycle grip is more comfortable to the hand than the hard metal or plastic most places use, so OXO tries to make everything a little more ergonomic. The same applies here - the top knob is a big, easy to use rubberized grip. Folds flat. When folded, I believe the unit is under 2" thick, meaning it will fit in almost any drawer. When in use, you can either keep it laid flat (say for doing a quick zest of a lemon) or open it and stand it up (if you need to shred some carrots). Two levels of grating. The blades are set at a medium-large size, and a small size. It doesn't slice, it doesn't do wavy cut, just 2 sets of holes. Easy to clean. Since it's just two surfaces and it opens up, it's easier than a normal box grater to clean. Cons: Not as sturdy or large as a normal box grater. For a 2-person household, or for only occasional use, this grater performs well. If you have 4 or more people and you need to use the grater all the time, you'll want to spring for the box version. You can tell this unit is just overall flimsier and smaller than a full grater. It feels like it will stand up to years of light usage, but if I had to shred 10 pounds of potatoes, I would dread only having this around. Overall: All I really need this grater for is to occasionally shred some carrots for 2 people, and similar-size jobs. Having this grater handy right in the drawer means I'm much more likely to use it, rather than rummaging around in a cabinet for a large and (relatively) hard to clean box grater. This suits my needs perfectly. Recommended.

I am evangelical about this cheese grater

This cheese grater is LIFE-CHANGING. I mean that. I am evangelical about it. I have gifted it to everyone I know in attempt to spread the gospel of melty cheesey REVELATION. First, the basics. If you really want delicious melty cheese (who doesn't??), you must grate cheese from a block right before you use it. Order a block cut at the deli counter. They may look at you funny, whatever, it's worth it. Americans are doing cheese WRONG. Pre-shredded cheese bags are abominations. They are not conveniences, they are hoaxes! They come with sawdust/cellulose/potato starch mixed in to keep it from "caking" (drying out), which ironically hinders its ability to melt, thus rendering itself COMPLETELY WORTHLESS. And seriously un-tasty! A Kraft pre-shredded, part-skim mozzarella pizza is packed with culinary disappointment. No wonder everyone orders take-out instead. This secret radicalized my food-life, and now I prefer what I make at home to meals out. Pizza, pasta bakes, paninis, enchiladas, I'm talking full-fat gooey bliss here. Convinced? Okay, now you need a good cheese grater. No, not one of those toys! No hard to clean pyramids, no boxes, no single planes. You want this bad boy. It stands up to applied force. It's dishwasher safe, it's good for hard and soft cheeses, it separates for easy hand-cleaning between uses, which you're gonna need, because, trust me, now you're going to be grating cheese at every meal. We use ours about twice a day. About every three years, it breaks, and gets replaced. I think that's fairly good mileage. BUY IT. BE CONVERTED.

Super Grater!

This is the best food grater I've ever owned. It can be used as a standing grater or be taken apart and laid over a bowl. Because it can be taken apart it is very easy to clean and the two sizes of grating are the only ones you really need. I never used the other two that come on a box grater.

So easy to clean!

Best cheese grater hands down! I have had mine for almost 6 yrs and now just needed to replace it. Comes apart and I clean mine in the top rack of my dishwasher! No more bloody knuckles from cleaning the square ones!!!! So worth the money!

Good

A good grater, good quality, does it's job. The "legs" are looking ugly and have no purpose. I bought it because my friend out of Canada has a very similar grater by OXO, but without "legs". Tried to find exactly same grater in Canada, but no luck. Probably this ugly design is made for North America, and Europe has more elegant version, as usual. If you don't know about that, you feel better.
