My goldfinches absolutely LOVE this new feeder!
This is my new go-to feeder for my goldfinch colony! I have been using mostly window feeders but the larger birds can still get in and bully the finches out, and of course, the suction cups fail. So this feeder fills the bill. And the flexible ports keep the seed from falling out so there's no waste. Since I feed hulled sunflower seed that is ground somewhat fine, this is a definite bonus. They must think the ports are sunflowers because they just go crazy for it, fighting each other to get the best perch or be the first one in the morning! I hand them high up from my window edges so squirrels can't reach them .

Squirrels like this, too!
So,after receiving a damaged product, I exchanged it without any difficulties. I was excited to assemble and place the feeder with my other feeders. Within a few days, the squirrels had managed to knock it off the hook, damaging the hanger. Additionally, the squirrels apparently ate some of the plastic at the feeding port (pic 2). I managed to tape over the damaged port (to keep seed from falling out) and hung it up again. Once again, squirrels managed to quickly tear it up, making the feeder unusable due to damage to the plastic hanger and apparently chewing some of the clear plastic around the port, making the hole too big for the port to be reinserted(pic 1). The product isn’t faulty, but it’s certainly not designed to be used in areas that squirrels frequent.

Great!
Replacement for sock feeders that I had. These are so much better. I lose a lot less seed. Keeps it dry and the birds can't rip it apart like the socks.

Package was open ... seed fell out in box
Although the birds come to this feeder quickly, the seed easily falls out of the feeder slots when the birds feed making a big mess below the feeder.

They love it!
I had an old yellow one that finally broke, and replaced it with a blue one. After 2 years of few visitors, I researched and found they are attracted to yellow. I bought this spiffy one, and several finches visit every day!

Great for all small birds.
I'm new to feeding the backyard birds. I noticed that my neighbour's were putting out good for the larger birds, but there didn't seem to be anything for the smaller ones. So, I did some research and bought this one with a large bag of nyjer seed. It took about 2-3 weeks for the birds to discover the feeder and start using it on a regular basis. Once they do, it's unnecessary to fill it past the third set of openings. It's just a waste of seed. I usually fill it just past the bottom set of openings. In the summer, when there are other options, the birds don't eat as much. So, you will need to dump out and waste a lot of seed every time you clean the feeder. Now, in the fall, the birds are eating more, so I fill it just past the second set of openings. It might be different in the winter. Do not hang in a tree!!! No matter what you do, the squirrels will keep trying to get to it and cause seed to be wasted. I found the ideal place was to hang it under a large tree with high branches .... on a shepherd's hook. A deterrent for the squirrels is a "Slinky". I saw it on YouTube. It's impossible for the squirrels to climb a shepherd's hook with a slimy attached. Don't hang near feeders for larger birds. The smaller birds are skidding and won't even come near. The sound of running water, attracts all birds..... especially, when the weather has been dry. I placed a large, shallow bowl on the grass on propped up my hose so it just dropped into the bowl. This was enough to attract all sizes of birds and the squirrels. The water really works. If you feed the birds in the summer, you must continue to do so in the winter when they need food supplements even more. The small birds are even more susceptible to the winter cold as they don't have the ability to store fat. So far, I have had mostly chickadees and a few finches as regular visitors. But I live in northern Ontario. Helpful Hint..... But 2 of the same. When you take one down to clean, replace it immediately with the second one ready to go. As you need to let the feeder air dry, completely, before refilling with seed, it could be a day that the feeder is not up. By that time, the birds are looking elsewhere and it may take them another few weeks to come back. As the holes are tiny and the cap is tight, the nyjer seed stays dry, even during a storm. No need to clean and change seed too often.I Great value for money. Don't need anything more expensive.

Good but for a plastic feeder.
Tight assembly preventing bully birds and rodents get into it and steal the seed. I like the port flaps keeping rain away and ruining nyjer while allowing birds to get the beak fulls of seed.

This feeder will soon fill your garbage can!
This feeder didn't even last three months. Everything is held in place with little plastic tabs that just started snapping in the last few weeks. First was the upper loop that connects to the tree so I did surgery on that and put some small screws in for support. Then a T-bar support for the birds broke, the the whole pieces started coming apart. It is too late to return this (30 days) so I guess it will feed the landfill. I would give it negative stars if I could.

Okay, but don't expect it to last long
It's all plastic, so it breaks very easily. Had this in the garden and took a few days for the birds to figure out how to use the feeder, but they damaged it WAY too easily after it became their go-to-spot to eat. In a month, the ports were chipped at and seed would fall out. Eventually the hanging hook broke when some heavier birds landed on it.

Une compagnie ontarienne incapable de trouver un traducteur francophone!!
Attire les pinces dores, les finches violettes, les redpolls et les siskins... SANS FARCE... Est ce si difficile de traduire. Chardonnet, pinsons, sizerins, parulines. Pas fort pour une compagnie Ontarienne.
