The oldest style was the best!

I loved the original Aspen Pets Walkabout leash! Ever since Petmate bought out the design, they've been getting worse. This one doesn't have the annoying finger bumps, which is an improvement for sure; however, the lock doesn't work well - it's hard to engage; and my gloves get caught in the trigger mechanism. That didn't happen on the older styles. Maybe the finger space was bigger; but it didn't even happen with the small leashes, where I had to put one finger outside the finger space when wearing gloves. Also, the flat leash keeps sticking and not retracting. Despite the rope burn potential, I prefer the rope style - they got stuck less! I do like the trigger style better than the thumb stop style, though - so it beats a Flexi leash in my book! Although with the issues, maybe not so much.

Perfect dog leash!

This is the perfect dog leash. It's study with a non-slip texture to it. And most importantly, it has the trigger style control button instead of the thumb control button. I am buying another one.

Doesn't lock when you want it to, locks when you don't

This is a completely pointless leash. 90% of the time is is malfunctioning. No wonder this product is discontinued.

Petmate Walkabout

This product has jammed several times when I've taken my dog for a walk. I end up carrying my dog back home. Don't know the brand that my friend has but she has never had a problem like this. Diane Mullenix

Cheap and Flimsy Tape - No Longer Retracts

I actually purchased the BLUE (medium) leash a little over a year ago at Petsupermarket. The tape is cheap and flimsy, twists and no longer retracts. I would highly avoid. Not worth the money. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

DO. NOT. PURCHASE.

Absolute garbage. Even when locked, the tape pulls out. Of course, I first discovered this when my chiweenie ran towards the street and the tape wouldn't stop spooling out. As soon as my heart went back to it's proper location I drove straight to the store and bought a different brand. I have video of it failing, but Amazon won't let you upload video! I had this for less than a year and it's headed straight to the trash.
