Pretty plane-jane, unassuming, and efficient LED light

These are great for a hallway or stairwell. Their design is very basic and should be fairly timeless. The energy star est savings of $2.41/yr should only take like 20 years to break even, haha. Overall though, these are a nice basic lighting solution! FYI: I received this for “free” as part of the Amazon Vine Voice program but will still pay income taxes on the value of it, kind of like a contractor.

Slim, Light, Easy to Install, Name Brand, But, Whoa, Bright

What was received? I received a two (2) blue square retail like cardboard packages that had lots of information and pictures of the product on it, plus the brand name, Philips; each had a size being near square at about 13”, other than thickness, at a slim (3”) and weighing just over one (1) pound each. [I thought each big. Inside Inside of course was the light. It was packaged perfectly with cardboard, but no plastic bag. Country of origin? China Performance I think it’s a super bright, and a super white light, it’s 5000K on the scale, versus a soft light is a fraction of that. So, it’s all about the lighting look desired. I also saw no reference to the lightings CRI (color rendering index). It’s an excellent light that I think for me, is best in an area that I want more of an industrial look for my lighting, rather than something that compliments skin tones. Specifications? 1,500 lumens, 90W of light drawing 20W of power. Dimmable? Yes. ETL listed? Yes, I appreciate that. ETL/UL Certification There is an ETL certification on the light. That’s a positive, for me. I prefer certification. An ETL or UL certification is a third-party organization’s mark to certify the product [for Safety – that’s important for electrical whatever’s]. Having UL/ETL Marks are proof of product compliance to North American safety standards. Ask any electrical inspector. A product with UL or ETL Listed Marks are proof of product compliance to published industry standards, it’s a symbol of safety. Like my refusal to be driven in a speeding car that has no seat belt; I will not use anything electrical that has not passed muster by a third-party organization, such as ETL/UL/CSA. It’s just common sense on a safety issue. Is certification required? A certification isn't a requirement to sell an electronic device in the US. But do I really want to trust a device that the manufacturer did not want a third-party to certify? Typically, certifications are noted. Again, I DO see an ETL certifications on this lighting, hooray. Value The price is very competitive, for this level of quality. I hope my thoughts added information.

Bright with good quality lighting

Positives: Very good quality lighting No flicker Good construction Clear instructions Dimming function works great Negatives: LEDs cannot easily be replaced if they die Notes: Diffuser is plastic Review: These are great! They're mounted in my kitchen now, replacing an old florescent light setup. These provide so much better lighting over those. The light is nice and even with a clean look to it, no flickering or anything. The diffuser also does a good job and the light is spread evenly around the room! Highly recommended

Easy to install, simple design, and bright

I used these lights to replace two dome lights aka boob lights in my hallway and kitchen. They are quick and easy to install for the basic DIY'er, and they look much better than my old lights. They are much brighter and I like the simplistic design.

Very cheap look and feel, major disappointment

I ordered these because they are a trusted/recognized brand, but they're a major disappointment. Pulling them out of the box, I was immediately struck by how cheap and flimsy they look and feel. In fact, so much so, that I have no desire at all to even install them to see how the light is. The only positive I can give them is that they are ultra-low-profile, so they can fit in a very tight space. But they are also very expensive, relative to other ceiling lights I've ordered, and the other lights are far more attractive. Overall, very disappointing.

Fantastic!

These are perfect to upgrade two rooms on a budget. These fixtures are smooth, sleek, and modern, but won't call any attention themselves when mixed with any other style. Super lightweight and the quickest fixture install I've ever done. No more changing lightbulbs, these have built in lights that are LED, so will last many, many years into the future. Dimmable, although I haven't used that feature. I have them on a standard switch. These put off clean, bright daylight type light, with no yellow effect. The fixture we replaced, in one room, flickered regularly and dimmed with the slightest power pull on that breaker. This one doesn't do either. Clearly uses such a low amount of power that it has become a non-issue. I'd highly recommend this unbeatable deal that gives you TWO name brand fixtures.

Easy install, super bright

My hallway was pretty dark, and I was looking for a solution. I like the idea of low profile LED lights, and this caught my eye. Just took about 15 minutes to install, the instructions were clear, and it was an easy connection. Just bear in mind it’s really bright, might not work for spaces where you want subtle lighting.

Easy Install, Very Bright

Typical three wire install, replaced existing light so took about 10 minutes. Be aware that these are Daylight color so cooler light than incandescent bulbs. Brightened up this hallway compared to 40 watt it replaced.
