The tail light is meh
I prefer lights that have color to them. I thought these would have color which was in the add... but I failed to read that the light itself is white and the tail light is colored. So I'm not as impressed with these Yes, they put out a good amount of white light. No, the tail light is not important in any way to the light So they do stay on all night which if this is the color you are looking for, great. And the price point is correct about 15 bucks each... Recommended to you if you are looking for a white light

DESPITE CLOUDY DAYS, THE LIGHTS SHONE BRIGHT
The “User’s manual” that comes with the Pluralla Solar Spot Lights is nearly unintelligible. [You’ll have far better luck reading the instructions on the Amazon website — something which I realized long after struggling with the “manual,” which is also printed in the tiniest font normally reserved for medical package inserts.] The first day I installed the Pluralla lights was very cloudy. Despite that, the lights came on and were very bright. On the second day, the clouds lifted and it was sunny. The lights came on at sunset, and were quite bright again. But I kept checking on the lights, and by 10:00 pm, I noticed that they had dimmed quite a bit. Then I saw that the “tail lights” of the solar lights had come on. On one of the solar lights, the tail light was green. On the other one, the tail light was red (I have only 2 lights). Then both tail lights faded away, only to come back. The front solar lights remained dimmed. I took out my magnifying glass, again, and tried to parse out, again, the head-scratching language of the “manual.” What they call the “first gear” I realized was the button behind the solar light! Then it dawned on me. There is 1 button, which cycles through 4 modes (“gears”) of lights. Basically: high-brightness and low-brightness on the front lights, and a fixed-color light or cycling-colors on the tail lights. I pushed the button on the back of the light to—hopefully—land on high-brightness-fixed color. Which color, I haven’t figured out. And may not bother. I do really like the mono crystalline silicon solar panel on top of the lights. It’s quite large. Another cloudy day. We’ll see what the evening and night bring. …The evening brought bright front lights on both lamps, and two different colored tail lights, one blue, one red. Both steady, not cycling, and quite pretty — how to synch the colors of the tail lights, I may never know. Late into that night, I took another peek outside, and one of the lights had gone out. [I’m sorry for the poor quality of the photo, but I was already in bed with the alarm turned on, so I took the picture through a window, from afar.] I’d rate these solar lights as 3.5, if I could. But to be fair to Pluralla, the days have been quite cloudy, so 4-Stars it is!

Decent value, performance is somewhat dependent on placement
The instructions are awful, for instance, I had to come back to this product page to find out how many button pushes it takes to put the lights on the different settings. While the color changing lights on the bottom are kind of neat looking, I wish you could turn those off so more battery life could go towards the main lights. I have these with the solar cells facing towards the northeast and northwest, not the best orientation to maximize the battery charge. Having placed them mid January when there was a break in the cold weather (southern WY) they did fairly well considering the placement and short winter days. They were still lit at 6AM in high bright/fixed color mode but were very dim. I suspect a more southernly angle for the solar cells would help with that. Since I can't move my house or the road, and since the solar cells are fixed on the top of the lights there's not much I can do about it. The little stakes probably won't work too well in soft soil but seem to be doing ok so far in our hard packed clay soil. The lights are currently buried under about a foot of snow, so they are useless at the moment. It would be nice if they came with longer stakes to get them off the ground 12-24 inches in the more snow prone areas of the country. I'm also a little skeptical that they will hold up in some of the nasty hail storms we get in the summer; they are entirely plastic and I'm not convinced they'll survive. I'm on the fence between three and four stars, but I went with four because they're very bright, easy to set up and use, and are a pretty good value. If they do well through the summer I'll bump them up to five, if they don't make it that long then down the rating will go.

very sturdy, well made, excellent lighting, placement limited due to single unit design
I was really surprised at how well made these are - the stakes, lights and solar panels are very solid and well made - it also comes with mounting hardware that I have opted not to use. The best feature is the quality of the lighting - its fantastic (both the spot light and the colored path lighting under the solar panels) - super bright, lots of lumens, clear, great range, excellent color! I appreciate the four-function lighting options although I must admit I don't see a tremendous amount of difference between the high versus medium spot light. The only draw back is the location of the solar panel in relationship to the spot light - it's one unit with the panel extending behind the light, so obviously, the placement of the light as well as it's angle will directly affect how much power the solar panel will draw. In my case, the "ideal" install location based simply on where the light falls is not ideal for charging - the panel is facing away from the sun and not getting enough of a charge this time of year. That will change with the season, but it's something I hadn't thought about - all my solar lights have a panel that's separate from the lights which allows me to put the lights where I want and place the panel elsewhere for optimal charging. Overall, I think these are terrific lights.
