Much higher quality than you would expect from a work jacket

I wanted another color of my durable, insulated Dickies Eisenhower jacket I use for working outside. I looked for a while and couldn't find one. Then I came across this Red Cap jacket. It's much nicer than I expected. The size runs slightly larger than the Dickies with longer sleeves. The lining in polyester quilting is slightly thinner than the Dickies. The shell has 70% polyester/28% cotton/2% spandex compared to the 70% polyester/cotton of the Dickies. The 2% spandex makes all the difference & feels and looks much more luxurious. It has hidden elastic cuffs which is a bonus not described in the product blurb. Also there are 2 deep, buttoned chest pockets which are deep enough to secure a checkbook or very large phone. I wanted a nicer version of my everyday beater work jacket and found it! It's also a bargain.

Make the switch to Red Kap! But use the size chart!!

Based on the size chart on the Red Kap site I bought a small even though I wear a medium shirt. I am glad I did! Jacket is perfect! It has an awesome tapered waist and does not have the boxy feel of some work jackets. I do not plan to wear a hoodie under but if I did then I would order another in medium. I am short but weightlifting and mma put me in the thicker category. Jacket feels well made. Will report back on longevity. I really like how the zipper is covered as I hate hearing them clank against my car's paint. Gonna throw some patches on this and enjoy. I am switching from dickies to Red Kap!
