Great for commercial or home use.

This is commercial caliber, but is also great for the average home. You'll save plenty of water (no more worry about the children accidentally leaving the faucet on) and it's great if you have dirt all over your hands and don't wish to sully a faucet. It is also a great help in preventing the spread of flu germs etc. This is far too complicated for me, an average home owner, to install and I imagine many will require the assistance of a plumber. However, it is worth it to have it installed properly so it will last a long time. The manual gives specific directions with photos if you do decide to install without help. You can dial in the water temperature mix and lock it in with the control knob. There is also a way to make a temperature adjustment to get it just right. You will need four size D batteries. Once water is turned on, just place your hand under the sensor and you have 15 seconds of water with automatic shut off. It looks like all of the components are durable with little chance of leaking. Again, I would make certain to hire a professional to prevent any problems. It is too expensive to take a chance of self installation if you don't know anything about plumbing. If you do run into problems, it does have a pretty specific trouble shooting section in the manual. I would hang onto this just in case. You can order parts for this component if any are damaged or missing. I'm not sure about warranty, but the company does have a 1-800 customer service number. If treated with average use this unit should last for years.

Good faucet for home or commercial use

These Rubbermaid Commercial faucets are meant just for that, commercial spaces. However, we thought it would be a good idea to install them in our main floor bathroom. This bathroom is primarily used by my 12 year old son and any guests we have over. As is typical with young boys, he wastes too much water. This way he is not able to let it run or even forget to turn it off all the way which has happened many times! I was reluctant to install this in my home for two reasons. 1. The finish is very shiny chrome, which isn't really my style. the design is very plain as well. and 2. Because of the batteries. I was very concerned about replacing these batteries often and forgetting them like we always do with out kids toys. Both of those concerns were put to rest. The faucet actually looks really nice in this low key main floor bathroom. AS far as the batteries go they are LONG LASTING batteries. So far we have had no problems with them and hope to not have to replace for the expected 3 years. Installation was fairly straight forward although you might have to problem solve a few issues. If you aren't very handyand have a trusty plumber that might be a better route to take. Overall, I would recommend this faucet. certainly for commercial use but also for in home use in the right scenario.

Easy to install, works well. Does not come with a mixing valve

I installed this in my shop. It's nice not to have to touch anything when your hands are messy. I also like that it's battery powered--they say the batteries can last for 400,000 use or thee years. It looks nice and seems built very solid. It's a 4 inch center mount faucet. It worked well for my sink without any issues. I know that some sinks have three holes and this will work fine as long as the holes are the 4 inch kind. I think most bathroom style sinks that have three holes have the 4 inch kind. It was easy to install. First I removed the old faucet. I turned off the water under the sink. I unscrewed the water connections to the old faucet. Then I unscrewed a thinggie that actually held the faucet in place. After that the old came out. When I started to put the new in was when I realized that there is only one water connection. Yeah, I'm kinda dumb. I've since found out that there is a kit with a water mixing valve but that this specific kit does not come with a water mixer. I didn't want just cold water, so I got a mixing valve from my local plumbing store. I still get cold water the first time due to the water in the pipes cooling, but the the second time will give me warm water. I'm going to assume that most will just install this with cold water only. But after that it was pretty easy to install. The motorized on/off switch attaches underneath the faucet and then the water or mixing valve will go below that. The battery box is then put off to the side against the wall (somewhere where it won't get wet). They do sell an AC adapter, but that's not included. It sounds like the batteries will last so long that I prefer the batteries. It takes 4 D batteries which are included. Then it just works. I put my hands under the faucet and I get water! I sometimes have to move my hands to get the sensor to read me, but it works better than some bathrooms I've been in! I really like it a lot. It is expensive, but I think it's going to last for a long time.

Just remember to hook this up to your hot water line

I did not know that Rubbermaid was into plumbing supplies until I saw this product listed on Amazon. Aesthetically this is pretty much your standard chrome finished bathroom faucet. But wait there's more! This is a hands free faucet that detects the presence of your hands and turns the water on and off automatically. Overall this is not a lot more complicated to install than a regular faucet and the whole shebang runs for a couple of years on the included 4 D cells. It took me a while to figure out that you are supposed to connect this to your hot water line. Why? Well, in the spirit of being hands free, there is nothing to adjust to change the water temperature. So you just hook up the hot water line and when the water flows it starts out cold until it warms up a bit. I think that's the theory
