The most comfortable of any I tried, but velcro digs in to you into you
I went to Dick's Sporting Goods and tried on every single product they had there, and I found them all to be uncomfortable with the stabilizing bars digging into my leg. This one has adequately strong stabilizing bars and adequate padding so that you don't feel the bars digging into the sides of your leg. The only problem I have is that the initial neoprene closure is velcro and goes behind the knee. There is an opening between the upper and lower closure and invariably, you will feel the plastic crochet hook side of the closure through that hole when you flex your knee. You need to wear something beneath it to protect your skin. I am wearing it skiing, so it goes over my base layer which helps. If they would make the velcro closure for the neoprene seal in the front or close off the back of the knee so that you cannot feel the edge of the velcro patches, the product would be much better.

The best available
I’m 71 and still active in adventure sports (skiing, mountaineering, rock climbing). Without a good knee brace, I’m risking an injury that would take weeks, months and possibly years to recover from. This is the brace to get.

100% knee support, great product long lasting
AWESOME product recommennd to whoever suffering knee pain, this knee support definitely works. Amazon did not sent me the correct size that I order they sent me a larger size. I'm still using it and my old knee brace same brand still look and works great.

They forgot to field test it
Looking at the brace when you’re not wearing it the binding velcro straps look like they should work as expected. But when it's on your knee and bend it as normal, the velcro straps slide toward the middle behind the knee and pinch the heck out of hat very tender area. If anyone had tried it on before going to production they would have discovered that the straps need to be moved away from the back of the knee, and not just the visually appealing. Quality of the brace and hinged stabilizers seemed good for the brief 90 seconds I wore it before bending My knee to go up some stairs.

4 adjustable straps (2 in front 2 in back) PLUS 2 fasten velcro pieces in back
soft, comfortable, you can wear it directly on skin, no issues. it has adjustable straps, 4 separate, 2 on top, 2 on bottom, (2 in front 2 in back) all independent of each other so you can tighten and loosen as needed. it slips down when I walk but almost all of the knee braces do. it's a decent brace and amazon had it for 1/3 of the price the medical supply store had it for (same brace, same size, same brand) the brand name and little logo is in white but wore off after a few wks (not a big deal) this does have hinges and they do work though I found it hard to tell if they "held my knee well" I still had issues and it still went out and I hit the floor while wearing the brace (so no you can't get back to normal without whatever it is your doc says to do to make your knee ok again) mine is torn meniscus and acl..

Former Special Forces paratrooper / combat skiier gives 5 stars, They work great.
Before buying a brace, have it straight in your mind what the differences are in the braces. I originally purchased 2 Mueller Maximum Support dual metal side braces, with holes for knee cap and back side of the knee, with dual leg braces (both on the sides, L/R) and then CINCHING BRACES (2 on backside, 2 on frontside). With all of this support I have only had 2 occassions where the braces slid down lower than my knee. As Iook through the Amazon pages at braces .. the Maximum Support Large #333LG did not show up. I went to Mueller website and put that model # in to find it on Amazon. SIZES: measure 2-3 inches below/above knee REGULAR: 12-16 INCHES LARGE: 16-20 INCHES XLARGE: 20-24 INCHES. These are made of natural rubber. I wash them in a bra bag on delicate settings, mild detergent .. no bleach or fabric softener. Air Dry. So this is my 2nd set which allows me to have a clean set to rotate after a few days of wear and wash. These are very effective .. I have a broken knee from military combat skiing and paratrooper knees from some hard landings while in the 10th Special Forces Group Airborne (Green Beret).

Well made and I was able to modify it to wrap around from behind the leg
This is a well-made brace that is perfect for anyone who has had back trouble and doesn't want to have to reach way down to pull on the Mueller's (even better) $40 slip-on brace over their foot. I've had back trouble and I do better with a wraparound knee brace. I've also had some trouble with the simple elastic braces that press down on the kneecap, causing wear and tear on the articular cartilege layer on the back of it. Once I realized those were bad news, I got a (way overpriced) wraparound brace made by Procare. I liked the way it wrapped around from the back of the leg, leaving the kneecap completely uncovered. This Mueller one is designed to wraparound the knee from the front of the leg. I was worried that it might put a little too much pressure on my kneecap so I pulled out the easily removed aluminum hinges and popped them back in BACKWARDS. This allowed me to apply the brace from the back of the leg (as in the Procare) and leave the kneecap uncovered. The material that normally would be in front of the knee now bunches up a little in back of the knee so I may take scissors and carefully cut out the padded circle. It's not really a problem except when I bend the knee at a right angle or more. Excellent product though not quite as light or as effective as the $40 one that slips on.

Does what it is supposed to do.
This brace takes a while to get used to it, but does what it is supposed to do. It is up to the usual high standard of Meuller and I am happy to recommend it.

Moving parts arrived seized
There are a number of moving parts in the metal supports to this knee brace. Most of them were seized solid when it arrived which increased the damage and pain in my knee rather than reducing it. Physio was appalled. Took it apart eventually, which is not easy, and freed up all the moving parts. It works fine now but disappointed that this was necessary.
