A nice surprise

I've only had the fountain 2 days so I don't yet about peeling paint but, based on some of the other reviews here, I think I'll baste the whole thing in water sealer just to be cautious. It came in only 3 days with regular free shipping. I was surprised at the weight. The box said 33 pounds but it felt more like about 50.. I was also surprised that it not only looks but feels like it's made of real concrete. I was expecting to be disappointed with a cheap, lightweight, wax-like thing but this fountain is quite the opposite - there's real substance to it. I didn't like the that fountain's tip is made from black plastic - not because of the plastic but because it's black in contrast to the light-colored fountain. Luckily I had some white Rust-Oleum spray paint (with primer).for plastic handy to fix that tiny detail. As soon as I plugged the 2 pump wires together (making sure the o-ring sealed properly) the pump began running even though it was in the shade - so it must have picked a charge at the factory. I recommend taking your time with the initial setup so you don't accidentally break something - like the solar panel. Just be gentle, patient and careful when popping it out and back in to make the wire connection. Like I said, mine already had enough residual charge so that it pumped water immediately. Still I gave it about 6 hours in the sun with the switch turned off to let it build up power to where it ran till after dusk, when I finally saw the flow weaken and shut it off for the night. Funny thing though - our street lights provided enough illumination for it to build up sufficient power for a strong flow before the sun hit it again in the morning. So I'm VERY happy so far with my new fountain but, given a few of the other comments, I may try adding some additional filtering material under the base - maybe something like steel wool but in plastic - something that will still allow for plenty of draw but still keep nasty stuff away from the pump inlet. For now I have to give it 5 stars.

Fantastic fountain for the right price

The media could not be loaded. I was a little skeptical of this fountain due to the low price but I needed something to go with my new patio set that didn’t require wiring. This fountain is perfect, arrived in great condition, it was very simple to put together, and it adds a wonderful feature to my small backyard. I would definitely recommend getting this if you’re looking for a cute solar fountain for your yard!

Great customer service; It's a very good product, with regular upkeep.

The first thing I did was go to the hardware store and purchased two cans of clear coat. The paint was already chipping. Next, you will want to purchase vinegar or Lime Away or CLR to remove the scaling that develops every month. I tried the commercial liquid that is recommended for the fountain, but it just made the water slimy, so plan on changing the water on a weekly basis. Make sure they system is fully dry before doing any maintenance on it. They have a couple of videos on YouTube on assembly and cleaning. Their customer service is very good. After six months, the system stopped working so I contacted customer service. After going through the thorough trouble shooting steps, they sent me a new panel and on/off switch. Make sure you let it sit out in the sun at least a day to allow the battery to fully charge before you start using. You will want to do this every other week or so to allow the battery to fully charge. It's a beautiful fountain as long as you do your homework and take good care of it, just like your car, or garden, or camera or anything else worth having.

Questionable build quality, had to get replacement parts, but works finally.

Nice now that it all works but the bowl is hollow inside which means the 1st one leaked where the 2 halves are fused together. Got a replacement pretty quickly but then the battery case started expanding and then didn't take a charge, so water intrusion? After emails with part #s, etc. I got a new battery. Then the switch on top wouldn't turn on the pump. Another email and got a new solar panel/switch combo. So after a month of hassle it finally worked and didn't leak. Been good for 2 months. Now have to shut down for winter so parts don't break from freezing. We'll see if it still works next year...

Complete garbage AVOID!

When it worked it was nice. But within the first week the filter in the pump clogged and the whole unit needed to be drained, disassembled and rinsed out (filter the size of a quarter). This repeated every few days. Then a month in the pump simply stopped working. I again took everything apart but to no avail. I even checked the current from the battery pack, which showed it wasn’t the solar/batteries. I was able to do so as there was a simple plug connection between the two. Putting an electrical connection in submerged water is plain stupid. Likely shorted the motor. Finally when I used it as a plain birdbath without the fountain it cracked and fell apart within 3 months. It is very thin mortar on top of styrofoam. Total garbage.

Lovely fountain

This beautiful fountain came without the accessories so the fountain is 1/2 inch high. I have waited one month for the accessories and new battery to be sent to fix the problem. I and am still waiting. I like the fountain but would love it if I had a beautiful high spray for the birds and I to enjoy. Please let me know when I can expect to get it delivered.

Not much of a “flow”, just trickles.

Not much of a “fountain “ flow! Have it in high sun, but it trickles. If I had paid $100 for it, that would be as expected. However, was disappointed with this product.

Better in real life than the promo pictures offer. Functions as good as advertised. Neighbors are VERY jealous.
