My husband LOVES this brand and this lure.

UPDATE: October 16, 2015: Just ordered five more for my husband, sons, and brother in law. They really love these lures! Original Review: My husband asked me to order two of these for him. He is a devout fisherman and we own a small marina. His parents used to sell bait and tackle so he's very familiar with it. He really likes this lure and told me to give it a 5 star rating and so here it is. I know nothing about fishing tackle so all I can say is...it's pretty! But my husband and sons all like this brand and own lures of different patterns,made by Smithwick. They never come home empty handed when they go out fishing so the lures are doing their jobs. They are high quality and will last for ages. My husband had the same one before (and other patterns/colors) but he was in an auto accident last summer and his entire tackle box was thrown from the car and destroyed. As he replaces his missing tackle, he is only getting what he really loves and this lure falls in that category times two!

Good for bass and pike.

I got this to pull on bottom bouncers for walleye and never got a bite. I switched up and started fishing it for pike and bass and started slaying them. bring extra hooks though. After a few 26" pike the trebles started bending real bad. I swapped the bent ones with some Gamakatsu's and problem solved.

Great action, decent quality

Smithwick Rogues sell for only $5.50 in most stores and are great lures. The first one I ever used must have been defective, it was falling apart pretty easily (even though it caught me some nice bass). I got some new ones and they are holding up much better. They have great action that really catches Smallmouths, Largemouths, and even Stripers. Positives: Great Price Sharp, quality, hooks good looking finishes and patterns Excellent action, very good jerkbaits tons of rattles, produces great sound Negatives: Some finishes are less durable than they should be (Chrome and gold) the lips are a bit thin and sometimes can break off the plastic they are made from could be a bit stronger Hard to find in most stores and more expensive to order online

Cheap components. They often don't run true out of the package.

I've bought tons of these over the years. They were my go to artificial for shallow rocky rivers. I had to finally give up on them because about 2 out of every five aren't running straight out of the package. That's unacceptable. Also the split rings and the hooks can only put up with a little abuse before they bend or come apart. I started using Storm Thundersticks. They seem to catch as many bass and walleyes under the same conditions, they all run true out of the package and they're built more stout with tougher hooks and split rings.
