Well-made, heavy-duty cord
I like that it has a light on the distal end so I can find it in the winter darkness without hunting around in the freezing cold. I can run an electric heater using the cord with no issues. The red, white and blue color scheme was no doubt chosen to call attention to its having been made in America, but it also makes it visible and easy to follow when used near other cords. I will definitely buy another one like it.

Heavy duty!
Very nice heavy duty extension cord. Seems well made and solid. I prefer American made product whenever possible. This is a great product for a very good price.

Best cord I own
Purchased this cord to power some outdoor tools. The primary tool used with this cord is an electric jack-hammer. Personal reviewers of the tool recommended no longer than 25' cord due to the high current draw, but I needed to reach farther so gave it a shot. I've now been using this 100' cord for nearly two years. Even with the high demand from the jack-hammer, the cord has never so much as gotten above ambient temperature. All other extension cords in my garage now go to Christmas lights, as this has taken over for all the heavy lifting.

RED, WHITE, & BLUE: HARD TO CLAIM IT'S THEIRS!
I can't even remember the number of extension cords I've purchased over my lifetime and lost to others who picked them up thinking it was theirs or just outright stole it. Well no more! There's no question who's cable this is when everyone else has yellow or black! My Grandson wanted to come visit for a couple of weeks and some of that time they wanted to camp out on the property. We used the Red, White, and Blue extension cord to go from the barn to their tent. When plugged in, the end lights up, making it easy for the boys to find at night. My Grandson's camping is certainly different than it was in my day of camping. The heavy duty cable was used for charging their phones running a fan (because it was "hot" out there), and some gizmo to watch TV and YouTube, etc, plus some gadget to play games on! The multi outlet, which was plugged into the Red, White, and Blue extension cord, was filled with things they brought to power up while camping! Yeah, things are sure different from the old pup tent! That beautiful, patriotic, cable, was left out in the rain, run over by the car and the tractor, used and abused by those Grandsons of mine and yet it has held up beautifully. No one ever takes it by mistake anymore. Everyone knows, HANDS OFF, that's MY CABLE!

I am a fan of Southwire
I bought this cord to run my miter saw and table saw, both 15 amp, fairly far away from an outdoor outlet to build a shed. I needed something to be able to carry the full amperage load. I also needed to minimize the voltage drop over the long distance. Bad voltage = broke tools. Each time you go over 50 feet, you should increase one wire size. I am going over once, borderline twice. Standard building code says 14 ga for 15 amps, so I needed 12 ga. At 100 feet, voltage dropped from 122 down to 117, so a 4.1% drop. I'll call that good enough. Southwire's own calculator estimates a 4.27% drop. Now, when running my miter saw, voltage dropped to around 107 when I started it and took 1 to 2 seconds to wind up to full speed, but It cut fine. I have since cut the cord in half and put on 20 amp ends at the cuts. Now I have 2 really nice 50 foot cords. 100 feet is just way to long to use if you don't have to. Worst case, I can plug them together. Now for the sticklers and the "I know everything" types who have already shouted that I don't know what I am talking about, I'm an idiot, etc., when calculating wire load and length for extension cords. I know you have to include the length and gauge of the building wire itself from the main panel to the outlet when calculating extension cord ampacity. This means that most people can only use this cord for up to 10 amps if their house wire is 12 ga and 6 amps if their house is 14 ga. The outlet I used was tapped directly off my outdoor main panel and about 3 feet below it, I am calling that length negligible.

Made In America Baby! Contractors Grade! Quality! Lighted Ends!
Well, I gotta say, I'm impressed. Its not too often that you find things made in America anymore. But when you make something in America, you feel a sense of pride in your product. And as a customer, we feel a sense of pride, owning a product made in America. When I first lifted the box off my porch, I was like, "Dang, this thing is heavy!" According to the listing, this cord bundled up, weighs in 12.5 pounds, but it feels like 20-pounds when lifting it. Forget about coiling this thing up on your arm, your's will never hold out unless your the HULK. Either coil this on the ground, or get a cord reel for this. The cable is most certainly very durable! You feel that not only in the weight of the cable, but also you can see it in its manufacturing. Thick protective outer jacket, 12-gauge stranded copper wire conductors, fully insulated, and appear to be well terminated at the ends. The plug ends are clear, and they light up which is the latest standard. The plugs make a solid tight fit when connected and didn't give me any trouble. This cable easily can handle 15-AMPS continuous without getting warm. This cable is designed to handle that load up to 100'. Always use the proper sized cable for the job. The longer the cable you go, the more your resistance will be. If you have a tool that requires 15-AMPS, you can serve that tool up to the first 100' of 12-Gauge cable. If you need to go beyond that, say 200 feet, due to the extra level of resistance, you would have to upgrade to an 8-Gauge cable. This cable does appear to be indeed contractors grade, I love the quality build construction. I personally really love the fact its made in America. This cable has served me well so far, and I haven't had any problems with it. I am going to have to give it a solid 5 out of 5 stars. "Heavy Duty" classification cable.

Exactly what I wanted
The cord arrived very quickly and is exactly as advertised. Listed for -40c and heavy duty. I’ve had the exact same cord for over 15 years and it’s still like new and wanted a second one.

I bought this cause it was made in USA
I'm not totally upset this is a great produce and I'm glade it's made in the USA but when they claim it stays flexible in freezing temperatures I think they speak with forked tongue (polite way of saying they lie like a rug). This stuff stiffened up something nasty darn good thing I store it inside cause otherwise you will fight to get it off a reel. Also after it's been outside and used there is no way you can wind it up on a reel, I end up bringing it inside and thaw in the laundry tubs before putting it on the reel. Okay all that said this is a supper heavy duty cord and it will not short change power through its total run. It's colourful, heavy, great plugs and did I mention it's made in the USA would I buy it again. For sure cause it's built right and to build it right it's going to be stiff when cold. Live with it.

Finally, a real extension cord.
We bought this to be able to power our induction burner, deep fryer, coffee maker, and other small appliances from our generator. Gauge is sufficient that there's no danger of overheating and no voltage drop. Working as promised very happy.
