I’ve been using this filter replacement for years, not the same one.
This filter works great it’s easy to use. Luckily my refrigerator lets me know when to order a new one.

Cheaper than Pur filters
After buying Pur filters here in Amazon 3x (Pur filters are less expensive here than Sears), I decided to buy this brand after noting that the Pur filters (all 3 of them) only lasted 3-4 months. Water flow was significantly reduced after that. The original fridge filter lasted more than a year and I expected the other filter to last as long as that one. I kept my fingers crossed with Swift Green and it's been almost 5 months and water flow is still the same. If it would stay that way for 6 months or more, the purchase of this filter is worth it. Read the instructions first before installing. Comparing Pur with Swift Green, both weigh the same, they also fit well with my fridge. The test will be the taste of water which for me is alright. I'm residing here in the Valley area of Los Angeles county for almost ten years and water taste has not been a problem in my neighborhood. I'm not an expert, but I tried drinking from the tap and the water seems to have an aftertaste. With Pur and Swift Green, this aftertaste is greatly reduced. The water even tastes better with both filters than the bottled ones from Costco. One star less for me as I find it that even at this cost, I find these filters overpriced for what they are. Overall though, a good option for filters and definitely will be buying again.

DIY refrigerator water filter replacement
Swift Green UKF8001 Water Filter, Compatible with Maytag UKF8001, UKF8001AXX, UKF8001AXXT, UKF8001AXX-750 models, 1 pack When time came to replace the water filter in my new Whirlpool refrigerator I priced out a few different brands. Since we use the refrigerator water for drinking and in our coffee maker we needed a quality brand. After reading a lot of reviews for quality we purchased a Swift Green water filter. To test the water filtering quality of the Swift Green filter we made a cup of coffee with regular tap water and then with water filtered from the refrigerator. The coffee made from the tap water had a bitter taste while the coffee made with water from the refrigerator had a noticeable smoother taste. When I replaced my water filter it was not necessary to turn the water supply to the refrigerator off. I released the filter cover by pushing the tab on the cover witch lowers the filter on the hinged cover. I then firmly twisted the filter counter clockwise and the filter popped off. Before installation it is necessary to soak the new filter in a pan of water for the recommended length of time. This fills the filter so you won't experience a lot of air purging from the water lines. Once the filter was installed I filled several quarts of water to be sure all the water I will be using has past through the new Swift Green water filter. http://amzn.to/2fDnYSw

Working well with our Whirlpool fridge...though a little tough to get on
This was the best deal I was able to find on water filters for our Whirlpool Gold refrigerator (I purchased 2). This replaced the (original) Pur UKF-8001 filter that came with the fridge. I had a bit of difficulty installing it, as the opening includes a gasket not found on the Pur filter. The info with the filter claimed this helps ensure a tight seal. On my first attempt installing it, I ended up getting water squirted inside the fridge (I believe your normally supposed to be able to leave the water on). I tried with and without the gasket...in my case, the gasket was needed. So, I ended up turning off the water and on my second attempt was able to get it installed. I'm not sure if relieving the water pressure made a difference, but it seemed to go on a bit easier. As for water quality, yep, it's doing the job. I can't tell any difference as compared to the Pur filter that come with the fridge.

Seal was missing
The seal was missing so we took the old seal off and put on the new filter. After installation, the water was a dark gray like charcoal so we had to use a lot of water to get it clear. Never had to do that before. Not sure if I will order this again from Amazon. Not happy with the product.

Probably OK
I have been using this filter for a few years now and it seems fine to me. It fit my Sears/Kenmore fridge OK. It is made in Canada which is a plus compared to most other non OEM filters which are made in China. So far I have found only one similar filter from China that is certified by the Water Quality Association (WQA) the EcoBlueLife model EBL7770 but it is only certified for Aesthetic Chlorine reduction not other harmful toxins like lead or mercury. Therefore all the non OEM filters made in China that I found here at Amazon are not certified by the WQA for reduction of harmful toxins although I may have missed some. The Swift Green SGF-M9 is listed as certified by the WQA however, I found nothing from the seller RPI Distribution listed on the WQA website. There is a question there but I have to order another filter now and I will go with this one.

Great Value, So far so good!
I selected this product over the overpriced model used in our Kenmore. I returned the $45 model equivalent that I purchased from Lowes and did a lot of research and decided to give this one a shot. It seems to meet all the standards of the filter that I was using and at a very reasonable price. It was also important that I have something that was also not manufactured overseas, this product is made in Canada and also has operations in the USA so it check off on those boxes as well. I've been using it for several weeks and I'm pleased. Follow the installation procedures and you got yourself a nice product and I will purchase again. Do make sure you soak for the right amount of time and then run the correct amount of water through the filter when you set it up. This is standard procedure for any filter. I've read reviews where people complain about water being cloudy, but following the set-up and flush process removes this. This is a nice product folks at a fraction of the price. Give it a shot.
