Fun but flimsy
Love the concept. My 6 yr old loves maps and obstacles and robots and puzzles. He's played with similar toys at school and at the library. So we thought this would be a huge Christmas hit. The main complaint and reason for not playing with it anymore is that the tiles don't stay in place. They are so thin and easily come apart after setting up the track. The colorful dots don't stay in place or the entire tile moves. Either Huey pushes them apart or if the track gets lightly bonked, they all slide out of place. We use it on hardwood floor or vinyl.

Don’t buy! Does not work well
This toy is an interesting concept, but is implemented poorly. Some of the pieces don’t fit flat and the circular programming pieces fit loosely. They move around and pop out as the robot goes over them. These defects cause the robot to lose track and run off the map uncontrollably. This makes it very frustrating for the kids. They can’t learn if the robot can’t respond appropriately.

Was fun for a short period. Good concept but not enough variety.
I really like the concept here, but I feel like it gets old and repetitious pretty fast and does not really have much of a coding relationship that makes sense to me. It was still fun for a while and my 5 year old enjoyed puting together some layouts and watching the little robot follow them. There were times when it did not follow so well and went off on it's own.

Fun toy, not sophisticated enough for a true introduction to computational thinking
My son is into robots, figuring out how stuff works, etc. He's 4. This robot has been fun for him; he likes manipulating the map to make the robot go different places. Overall, it's fun, but it probably won't be the thing that turns your little one into a computer scientist.

Interactive and fun
This is a fun interactive game. It’s more of a puzzle game with an upgraded concept related to artificial intelligence It’s not really related to programming or coding, but it’s still fun and basic Suitable for children over 5 year old who are more curious than those who are younger Pretty straightforward and easy to understand Makes a nice gift. It’s not a typical gift that someone could anticipate

Fun Puzzle Challenge Game
Huey is a line-tracking robot. It does not do anything else so the code learning aspect is fairly simplistic. There are set commands programmed into Huey based on color sensing. Therefore, this is more of a puzzle game than actively programming. In the box you get Huey and a stack of puzzle pieces. Huey is not run using treads despite its appearance. Instead there are two small wheels on the underside of the bot along with the color sensor. Huey runs on batteries and is not rechargeable. The tracks are made of a thin puzzle stock card board. Included with the manual is a challenge book that provides tracks with empty command pieces and a key with the commands needed to solve the puzzle. There are 18 puzzles in the challenge book and another 40 online. It is a fun puzzle game that you can play with your kids, which includes a robot that helps show you if you solved it correctly by traveling the path that you have constructed. It is a completely independent game that doesn't require external input from a computer or smart phone. You would only need a device if you want to access the 40 additional puzzles. Overall, once you come to terms that there is no programming really involved and that it is actually just a puzzle game it is still fun. The puzzles get progressively more challenging and can keep the interest of a child that enjoys playing puzzle games. The use of the fun robot that helps you debug your solutions keeps the game interesting for a range of ages.

Interesting and fun
The media could not be loaded. I agree it is a fun, engaging introduction to coding concepts. It has nothing to do with programming. It is more like a puzzle game, and Huey is the way to check if the right solution is found. You will need to pay special attention to the puzzle lines to help Huey find the way home. Some map tiles look so similar that they may confuse you and you may doubt Huey does not do a good job tracking the lines. Kids need to be focused and detail oriented when playing. It offers plenty of challenges (18 in the book + 40 online) for young learners to solve. We have not tried all the challenges, but so far, we had no problem with Huey. I also like that this robot does not require any device to operate, but still provides lots of fun for my kids (7 and 4). But the paper map tile seems thin and easy to be torn.

another good one from trustworthy brand
I've gotten quite a few toys from this brand, and all worked out great for kids. I think Thames and Kosmos makes quite a good quality toys not just in terms of material quality (including durability) and but also (and more importantly) cognitive development. Although it's not like a sophisticated science project, I think it's a good toy to get young kids to engage in some sort of brain development while having a fun. I think these kinds of toys can benefit the young kids and would be a great choice for upcoming holidays.
