My favorite shirts

I'm shaped like the Pillsbury Doughboy and finding a shirt that not only fits me correctly but also looks good on me is much more difficult than it is for someone of "normal" size; whatever normal size means. Anyway, the first time I put this shirt on I knew I had finally found something that not only fits, is comfortable, well made but it also makes me feel good when I wear it. The fabric is great and it may outlast me; I'm going to be 67 next week. Seriously, this shirt is great especially if you need a shirt with some extra room but that doesn't look like a poncho or a tent when you wear it. It is sized a little big which is fine since I'm also sized a little big! I just ordered two more in the other colors they offer. If they offered more that three colors, I would have ordered them too. My wife keeps buying me XXL Columbia brand shirts which are okay but don't hold a candle to this shirt. I ordered the XL size and it's perfect; I'm 5'9", 250 lbs. I just noticed it has little buttons UNDER the collar that keeps the collar looking good and the pockets on the front are perfect. I can even put my Samsung 6 Edge in them and have room left over! There is nothing that I don't like about this shirt except may that it doesn't come in 10 different colors or I would have ordered one in every color. Headed to the beach here in Panama this afternoon and I'm going to wear it again. I've worn it off and on for the past two days and it still looks like it was just ironed even though I don't think it will need ironing after it's washed. All my Columbia "cotton" shirts look terrible when they come out of the dryer and need to be ironed. Very happy camper. UPDATE: They now come in dark blue so I ordered it too. Now have all four colors and like them better than any other shirts I own.

Better than I expected

First, I had to return the first one. The sizes run at least half a size too big. It might be to allow room for body armor. If you're right between XL and 2XL, choose the XL. The shirts are very long to assist in tucking in. These shirts don't look right untucked. I would like there to be a happy medium. The feel and finish of this shirt is great. It's everything I want in activewear. Plenty of room in the shoulders and arms. I wish they had more colors to choose from. I will be buying another. Overall, if you're looking for a good shirt for everyday wear or hiking, this is a great choice.

Excellent shirt!

I have several of these shirts that are worn each and every week. After three years they look like new with no issues of fading even at the edges of the fabric, loose or broken stitching, Velcro detaching, etc. The separate pen stalls are much better than other shirts I have tried that have the pens/tools go through a hole at the top of the flap and into the pockets which causes the pens/tools to get in the way of whatever else you want to put in the pockets plus they pop out when you lift the flap so you have to remove the pen then lift the flap. The pockets are tall enough for eyeglasses or smaller sunglasses to fit in and still easily close the flap. I've never felt that the vents make much of a difference. Most people have their arms down at their sides much of the time with maybe short burst of activity but then they put their arms back down which covers the vent and prevents any extra airflow through them but the fabric is lightweight and breathes pretty well on its own. I wish they came in more colors and had a straight hem version to wear not tucked in for hot weekends. They have other shirts with straight hem but I don't like because they are 100% polyester, or don't have separate pen stalls, or the right size pockets, etc

Too short

Too short. Better to order straight from the manufacturer’s web site. I was trying to save money buying here. Waste of time. The way the top buttons is also wired. Not like the original shirt Alan Kay wears. If you’re looking for the Alan Kay style shirt pay extra to get it straight from the manufacturer web site. This one fits and feels like a knock off. I’m 6’2”, 215 lbs, dad bod. I’m returning the shirt. Navy size L

Decent shirt.

I noticed many people saying the shirt is of good quality but rather large. I normally wear Large so I ordered a Medium and it is definitely was closer to a Large size rather than Medium size. Sizing aside, the fabric is of good quality, though a little thin, and the buttons are securely stitched on. I found that the top collar button is a bit too tight and more difficult than necessary to button up. I also found the neck area to be tighter than most shirts of similar size with the top button buttoned up. The fabric also feels rather stiff out of the dryer, much more so than comparable shirts of the same fabric composition. Overall, this shirt is good if a little expensive. Remember that the sizes run large. Medium is ALMOST a large but not quite.

Nice shirt, has poly feel but it is lined and vented, so it should be fairly cool.

Needed some new tactical shirts but I refuse to pay the usual price. Came across this on sale and it is exactly what I wanted, at a reasonable price. It runs a little big but if it shrinks, it will be perfect.

As in other reviews, shirt runs large. Had to half the sleeves altered as they were more 3/4 sleeves than short. sleeves. Have had several people tell me how well the shirt looks.
