If you do lowers these make the extent I sail across the room every 3-5 th A build and now I have few and there making life easier ..even gave couple to other builders at a class I helped teach ..think I got 4-6 Kel kept 2 and gave rest out

Ar-15 Detent pins

Comes in a pack of 5, makes disassembling an AR-15 soooo much easier. Have given the other 4 pins to friends who struggled with this problem.

This is a very low cost tool for assembling a lower

There is a much more expensive alternative to this tool available for assembling AR-15 or other AR-type of lower when installing the Pivot Pin. You get to the step that says, "Align the pivot pin so that the detent groove is facing the detent pin." At that point, all is still under control but the next step is where many Detent Pins are LOST as the Spring uncoils and shoots the pin into the air - oops. Instead, insert the Clevis Pin into the slot where the Pivot Pin WILL go eventually. Then insert the Spring and then the Detent Pin. Keeping pressure on the detent pin use a punch or small screwdriver to push the detent pin below the Clevis Pin and then turn the Clevis Pin slowly. Now take the Pivot Pin and make sure the grove is not in the correct position but turned 180degrees up. SLOWLY, Very SLOWLY, push the Pivot Pin into the correct position and replace the Clovis Pin. (Make sure the holes stay in position and the detent pin and spring are not allowed to move.) As the Pivot pin is pushed into Position rotate it into the proper orientation as well. When it reaches the end the Pivot Pin is locked into the correct place.

AR FIFTEEN detent spring!?!??

Gotta have one of these IF you do any gun smithing on the AR platforms. The forward take-down pin detent spring LOVES to find hidden places in one's garage or workshop...never to be found again! This little jewel of a tool will help prevent all of that from happening. (KUDDOS to whoever came up with this idea using such a simple product as THIS clevis pin, btw!) VERY HAPPY with my purchase. (I got THREE of these while making my purchase just so that I can have one in my gun smithing tool kit, cabinet, and one in the truck's glovebox for range time events.)

Fit perfect on one lower. The second lower it would not fit so I quickly sanded it down …

Great tool for the money

Actually bought these for a tool while building my latest rifle. The holes on this are the perfect size for the detents. Using this keeps them from flying across the room if they slip while installing the take down pins!
