Does not appear to work on Venturist V1200 models
Product details specifically state it's not meant to work on Ascent series blender bases, but I got a refurbished V1200 (from the amazon renewed store) and the product page doesn't mention an incompatibility with the venturist at the time of review.. I then bought these cups but they don't detect. Tried the "slowly turn cup while its inverted on the base until it detects" trick and I cant get it to work. Physical inspection shows the 2 cups I bought from are different from the one that came with the base, with these cups having a pair of small square tabs (shown accurately in the pictures) with metallic inserts, while the cup that came with the base is a different (possibly newer) style usually marketed as "for ascent and venturist series" which has a pare of metal plates built into the rim instead of the inserts. Since the venturist base seems to detect the cup it came with, I assume the product page should read "not for use with ascent or venturist series". The construction of the cups and lids appears solid, they did not deform or degrade with a hot wash but I cant use them so I cant fully review them either. I'll attempt a return as I feel as though I was mislead into buying them even though I wasn't guaranteed they would work on a venturist V1200. If I find the additional cups don't work I'll delete or modify this review assuming its possible it's the base and I can't make any evaluations at all. I would still recommend that if you have a venturist or ascent series you go find a page that specifically says "compatible with venturist and ascent series" (or something synonymous....)

(NOT FOR ASCENT SERIES) I wish that it held a bit more...
Love being able to just blend one serving quickly and cleanly but I wish that it held a bit more... because it usually has some air bubbles after blending which makes it hard to blend the MAX amount indicated on the cup. Having the SAME lid size (so that the attachments still would work) but a larger volume (maybe 1000-1200ml) would make this even better. Some photos are showing ASCENT SERIES so be careful!!!

Genuine VitaMix
We ordered these for our VitaMix E320 that we bought from Costco. They're identical to the personal cups that come with the personal cup adapter for the E320. Now we have a set of four. They're perfect for our use, mostly for smoothies. FYI, I do not recommend putting these in a dishwasher. We put one of the first two in the dishwasher, and it seems to be very slightly warped. It doesn't leak, but it is very difficult to put the lid on. We wash ours by hand.

This is an OEM product. One drawback: need to use a stiff brush to get inside bottom cleaned of certain smoothie additives. Great as additional smoothie mix holder.

As expected.
Received what I expected. Pieces are interchangeable with what I received with my Vitamix. Not a big fan of cleaning this because the seal can be difficult to get out and the bottom of the cup is hard to reach/scrub if you're like me and can't at least rinse smoothie residue right away. That said, I've never had a leak and I put it in my bag and it gets tossed around til I drink it an hour or two later. The air hole allows me to chug it with ease. I lost it recently and will definitely replace it.

Amazon shipped a version which did not work
The version I received was supposed to work with my brand new Ascent Vitamix. It didn't work. The only way I could get it to work was to place a couple of magnets alongside the blade base (the accessories for the Ascent series use magnets to communicate with the base). I called Vitamix support and they shipped out a replacement which is designed differently from the one I got from Amazon; this one works great! Returned the cup and lid to Amazon.

It seems as though one can not have enough Vitamix cups... I like that I was able to get a genuine Vitamix cup – and actually, these are cheaper than purchasing directly from Vitamix...

Genuine Vitamix To-Go Cup, Save a Few Bucks
This Vitamix cup is the real deal, genuine and identical to ones already purchased from a Vitamix kiosk at a Costco. It was also 5 CAD cheaper than it would have been to purchase directly from the Vitamix site. And it works just fine in the To-Go cup adapter on my full-sized Vitamix.
