Great for compost, hard to get on at first

This is great to turn a 5-gallon bucket into a compost carrier! No more gross compost splashing on me when I open it, and no more slugs getting into the bucket. The only difficult thing was getting the lid on initially. I am fairly strong but couldn’t do it at all. And my husband had to use a hammer with something in between so he didn’t crack the lid.

Great modification of existing bucket

I was able to quickly add this to the top of a bucket I already had and toss the old lid that was broken and allowing bugs in. This makes the large 5 gallon bucket I already had air tight and keeps the cats food fresh. I actually prefer this to the Gamma container I got, as it is taller and easier to reach into to get the food.

BEST for... providing locked-in CLEAN water for poultry flocks!

I know these wonderful spin-tops are excellent for sealing grains and many other long-term human/pet food stores, but we swear by them for watering young chickens, turkeys, and even ducks (the messiest of the bird flocks) over summer through fall. We just take a 5 gallon bucket after installing a Gamma seal lid, and then drill appropriately-sized holes before installing six poultry drinking cups (or poultry drinking nipples) near the bottom of the bucket. This is a fantastic system for us over here: after filling each bucket, then spinning the top closed, none of the young birds can fly up to fall into the bucket and drown. Meanwhile, it takes days for the young birds to drink 5 entire gallons, we are able to fill once every few days for them to have clean water at all times instead of daily. It's the Gamma seal system that is the key to providing enough clean water for days, reducing the amount of time we need to spend on watering daily. One point off since we can't figure out how to keep young birds from roosting on the top of the buckets, and thus the top of the gamma seals lids... but this is a very minor problem, considering that the Gamma lid designers never planned on having birds roosting on their most excellent sturdy product.

Great for food storage

We have purchased these in the past from the big box store, but the only color they carry is black. Different color tops for different food types help keep from opening the wrong one just to see what was in it. We also have the green top version.

Good product

Good seal that I bought to keep my dog food in a 5 gallon bucket I already had with no lid. It was kind of a pain to get it to snap (I recommend either a really strong person or rubber mallet) on but once I did get it on it’s been good ever since.

Solid for the price but not totally dog proof

Had it about a month. It's stood up to *some* abuse from my pitbull, but she has made a lot of punctures in it (see pic). I imagine if she has a few more opportunities to chew it, she'll get through. Part of the problem is i didn't fill it all the way, so it's light enough for her to roll out and get a real good chewing angle. Overall, for the price and the abuse she gave, I'm impressed. (there is dog food in there, idk if she smells it or just remembers that's where dog food is, so I can't comment on airtightness). Showed the larger gray one for comparison. She can't move that one so it's not as easy to chew I think.
