Hopefully you are 7 feet tall!

Who ever designed this must have been 7 feet tall, but I knew by reading the previous reviews that is was going to be high. Just nOT this high lol Do not buy unless you plan to modify. After I modified it it works well!

Good product

These seem to be well built for the money. I will warn you they are very tall even in the lowest position setting my feet where not able to set flat on the deck of my boat so I had to cut about 2 inches or a little more off these. I am 6foot 1inch and not a small man they feel very sturdy and having to cut a couple inches off did not make this purchase a bad one.

great adjustable pole

not hydraulic but for those looking for an adjustable pole on a budget this is a great pole. lots of height options very sturdy

Easy to modify if needed.

Seems sturdy enough for its intended use and that is with a leaning seat and not a traditional boat seat you lean back in. Unless you're 7 feet tall you'll need a step stool to get in your seat. I intended to return it but didnt want to have to deal with it so with a quick pull to break the small roll pin that keeps the top piece from coming out to got the 2 pieces separated and cut 5 inches off. I drilled a few holes for the locking pin so I can adjust it now that the post sits lower.

FOR 5'10" or taller, and is NOT hydraulic / pneumatic gas piston, it's manual and plastic handle...

PRO: 1. Arrived on time. 2. Works so far, but we'll see how it holds up over time. 3. Lightweight. 4. Fits in the standard base plate really tight, so I hope it does not come loose to quickly. CON: 1. The threaded end was sticking out of the box, so packaging was poorly thought out. 2. It's tall / long size, I'm 5'10" and at the LOWEST SETTING, I fit just right. However, anyone shorter is going to have a bad day. 3. Not hydraulic / pneumatic, but rather, just a plastic pin that goes into a hole at different heights. 4. Expensive since it's NOT hydraulic / pneumatic gas piston. 5. I know, it says manual, but I thought that meant you had to use your hand to depress the lever, like an office chair does. OTHER: 1. BUY if you want an okay MANUAL adjustment seat post for anyone at 5'10" tall or above. 2. DON'T BUY if you think this is like an office chair hydraulic / pneumatic gas piston. 3. CAUTION: IT'S TALL, even on the lowest setting, I just make it on the seat with my feet flat on the deck of the boat.

It may need to be modified. But is a 10 Minute fix.

I am 6’2” tall and I had to cut 5 inches off of it so my feet were flat on the deck of my boat. It’s well made and the aluminum is thick. A well made product.,, just a little too long for my needs. I would buy again. Easy to install too.
