Cheap insurance for overhead door investment

The Grid is not what it used to be. I've found my battery back-ups/surge protectors to be invaluable to protect my electronics in the home office, and this was just the right size to pop into the ceiling to protect the new electronics in the garage door opener. I don't need a surge blowing out the printed circuit boards that keep the door working when I need it - stormy weather!

Peace of mind

Our home didn’t have an all home surge protector and we learned the hard way that having an incident is very costly. One we had our garage motor and sensors replaced, we added this surge protector. I chose it because 1) they are experts in garage products and 2) easy to see the red light once plugged in so we will know if it ever stops working

Surge Protector

If you live in a lighting prone area as myself ,these are well worth the price for protecting garage door openers from power surges from lighting strikes. Neighbors just lost both door openers, very expensive due to circuit boards being burned out.

Didn’t know power surge to my openers was thing.

Had to replace 2 openers because of a power surge. Cost over a grand. This is cheap insurance.

- Product arrived sooner than expected (UPS 2nd Day Air) THANK YOU - Price is right - Like the RED LED light that stays on/let’s you know you are protected - Like that Genie brand is very visible on product (this simple thing avoids issues with Property Management Company)

Intermittent problems

I plugged my brand new garage door opener into this surge protector. The door worked perfectly prior. I kept getting intermittent problems with the button on the wall, the same as it does when the garage door opener is unplugged. I removed the surge protector and the button works 100% of the time now. I don't know if the surge protector is damaged, so I returned it.

Works great

Works as planned. Th reason I go this to begin with was we had an outage and it fried the optoluctor in my genie opener. Got that taken care of under warranty and last night had an outage again and this worked as it should - garage opener just fine.
