Like the light fixture, directions need work

I like the look of this fixture, very sleek and modern but the oil-rubbed bronze finish and clean lines makes it look in tune with our early-1900's house, in a Frank Lloyd Wright kind of way. It was easy to install, once we figured out the directions. The directions included seem to be for every single light fixture made by this company and it's really hard to decipher which steps belong to this fixture. I am definitely inexperienced at installing light fixtures, but managed to figure it out without calling in a professional. It does take two sets of hands to install - make sure you have help available.

Canarm LTD Vanity Fixture

This fixture is not what I thought it would be. The oil rubbed bronze finish is a very dark matte brown with tiny flecks of a coppery color. The old fixture had a light bronze sheen with long streaks of copper which matched the shower rod and picture frames in the bathroom. The finish on one of the arms is sort of "smooshed", as if it was touched before it was dry. Also, the hardware to hang the fixture is smaller than the old light so some adjustments had to be made in order to get it up. It took about 45 minutes to install and I did it by myself so this wasn't a big deal. It uses regular bulbs, not the more expensive halogen ones, like the old fixture, so that's a plus. I decided to keep the fixture because the old one developed a short and a new one was needed right away. It's above the mirror so unless you're very tall or standing on a ladder the imperfection isn't that noticeable. I must add that the packaging was rather slipshod. When the delivery man picked it up to hand to me I could hear the pieces rattling around. I hoped nothing was broken since the box wasn't closed very well and looked like it had been thrown around pretty good. On the plus side the delivery was fast, it was received two days after it was ordered.

Excellent Purchase!

Bought two for over our bathroom vanity. They really look great and the quality compares to much priceier ones I have seen and bought for another bathroom. However, there is an issue with installing these. The screws and decorative nut cover do not fit together as they should. My husband had to tap and die to get them to fit. It took a lot longer to install them because of this. No matter what price you pay this is becoming the norm today perhaps because of foreign made products.

Love it, recommend it!

Awesome, looks amazing in my redone bathroom. i would highly recommend, only thing I mounted them so the shades open towards the ground bc if you mount opening up then the bar at the bottom casts a shadow on the vanity. I really did want to mount opening up but after mounting downward I must say I am still very pleased with the look. Wouldn't have expected to be but it works! The oil rubbed finish is flawless.I would recommend.

Looks Nice, But Shoddy Construction

We bought this for its looks, and it does look nice (including the finish of the "bronze" metal coating). The color might be a bit monotone, but it's acceptable. What isn't acceptable is the quality of the ceramic sockets which hold the light bulbs. There are two components to that. First, there are coarse threads around the outside, which are designed to hold a large metal "nut" which in turn holds the glass fixture in place. I suspect this design has the glass fixtures up because so many people give up on getting the nut started. With the glass up it probably could just sit in place. On one of the lamps I had a hard time even getting the nut off so that I could put the glass fixture in place! This will be a problem again every time I want to remove the glass portions for cleaning. Second, there's just fitting a light bulb into the socket. Here each socket was different, like Goldilocks. One went in too hard, one went in too easy (the bulb would light before twisting it into place) and one was just right! With LEDs this would only be a problem when I remove the glass fixtures for cleaning, because the LEDs will probably outlast my ownership of the house. Finally, the wife is a bit bothered by the fact that the lights are not perfectly vertical. They slope out slightly from the wall, I would not have noticed that, but it is off by quite a bit. Anyway, it is too bad that they compromised what would otherwise be a nice looking fixture by going real cheap on the lamp socket portion. It does look fairly nice. I've installed dozens of light fixtures in my day and I definitely would not go with this model if I had to install several. There probably is not that much of a learning curve to make the job go easier. But beyond that, the design seems like it will cause difficulties every time you want to clean the glass portion of the fixture.

looks fantastic

After remodeling my guest bath I wanted to replace the light fixture above the sink with something stylish and modern. This light looks stunning. It fits flush with the wall, wasn’t hard to install and looks absolutely lovely. I like it so much I am already planning to use it in my other bathrooms when I remodel those as well.

Affordable, looks great and feels sturdy! Just doing bathroom reno and this makes the bathroom look so much better and more modern without breaking the bank. Highly recommended!

Nice simple light. I installed at our camp. 2 6watt led bulbs installed. Looks soooo much better that just a squirrely bulb starring back at ya. Easy install

Well made

Unit is well made and therefore a little heavy so you have to make sure the wall electrical box is secure. Was a snap to install. Wife wanted it facing down so that is how it is. Looks good but would also look good facing up.
