Fun but Needs Adjustments

Like - fun! Spreading the batter over the molds covered in oil was a bit of a challenge, but once we blotted the excess oil it was easier. The way it packages the sandwiches with the ice cream is perfect. Silicone is easy to clean too, which helps. Dislike - the recipe for the cake batter is gigantic, making way more than needed for 4 sandwiches. If using that quantity of batter, they should have provided multiple trays instead of just the one. We ended up making brownies with the leftover batter since the excess was so much. Like you have to bake them, cool it in the fridge for 20 min (we just froze them for like 5 min), then have them set for like an hour. It’s such a long process for only 4 sandwiches.

Fun - recommend!

I was given this item as a gift and liked it so much I ordered one for my niece! After reading other reviews, I didn't use the recipe for the "cake" part of the ice cream sandwich. I used my own recipe for a single serving devil's food cake. It was exactly the right amount. The "cake" is a little dry after baking and that's okay. Once you layer it in the mold with the ice cream and put it in the freezer, it comes out exactly the right consistency. I haven't had an ice cream sandwich in years because of allergies and was happy to have one again!

Good product, recipes could use a little help

So I would give this 5 because it gave the kids something to do, but it definitely needs a better recipe for the outer cookie and it is a little difficult to work with. So I give it a 4. It a pretty decent item that some will love and others will use once. I think it just needs a few decent recipes and combinations to give it 5.

Works very well!

This worked well and the cookie part came out great. I would leave the sandwiches in the mold longer than an hour before removing them and wrapping them up but this probably depends on your freezer. The recipe makes a lot more batter than you really need. It would be hard to cut in half due to the small amount of baking powder you're already using. I'd be interested if anyone has a gluten free recipe that works because I have family members with celiac disease.

Messy but fun!

Okay. Where to begin.... I bought this for my son for Christmas. We had fun splashing each other with flour (like good bakers do). The actual application was messy. Wiping the batter out of the crevices, I liken to wiping a baby's bottom. The batter flavor was a bit too salty. The amount of batter was WAY TOO MUCH. Overall this was fun to make with my son and enjoyed the memories we made.

Makes it easy to eat GF ice-cream sandwiches again

Being GF for years one of the things I missed most was ice-cream sandwiches. When I was younger and single ice-cream sandwiches where considered dinner at my place, and who can stop at one right?! Who can stop at four if you have more than one person in our household either. I bought to sets of these and am very pleased with them. I get ice-cream sandwiches again!!! I use GF brownie mix and then I also let the ice-cream soften a bit before I spread out and put the other cover one. Very simple to make with these molds and have made several batches and frozen them separately so I just need to pull one out when the mood strikes.

and that taste good is impossible as far as I can tell

My daughter is celiac (can't have gluten), is milk protein intolerant (can't have dairy) and is highly sensitive to soy. Needless to say, there's not a whole lot she can buy and eat immediately. Ice cream sandwiches are usually dairy free OR gluten free. Getting both, and that taste good is impossible as far as I can tell. However, I bought her this and now she's pumping out ice cream sandwiches for summer that are free of any ingredients that would cause her pain/make her sick. Is it tedious? Yes. Does it provide a way for my daughter to enjoy ice cream sandwiches without fear of pain or regretting it for hours/maybe days later? Yes. Honestly this is one of the best buys I've made.

Nice but yous less for British standard wafers

I wanted to use standard British wafers. this unit is too long and too narrow. Therefor you have to spend a couple of hours making their recipe for the wafer. The unit is of good quality but only if you are willing to spend time waiting. also to send it back would cost £10 to America something i missed.

Makes good ICS, but could be better...

I think this would be better if they were filled with ice cream straight from an ice cream maker, as it is pretty much soft serve at that point. You have to soften commercial ice cream first, and they are very messy to make. I also did not like the recipe for the chocolate biscuits- I thought they were awful. Next time I will use a recipe for more of a chocolate wafer recipe (more like an Oreo biscuit). Other than that, they make reasonably good Ice Cream Sandwiches.

Both me and my daughter are celiac and shes been asking for ice cream sandwiches so excited to be able to make some
