Roll Your Troubles Away
ADDICTION WARNING - I have been using the "Ma Roller" for the past two decades. Legend has it originated from the ancient secret Cripts of China. I did not think I could live without mine until one day I left it at a hotel while traveling. I was unable to locate another Chinese Ma so I replaced it with the Earthlite Roller. The Earthlite Roller is equally as effective as the Ma and was less expensive. I have found if I set my alarm clock to wake me a half hour before I need to get up, then while lying on my back in bed I slip the Roller under the middle of my back with the spine in-between the two raised knobs. Then relax. Truth be known, it takes a bit of getting used-to at first. . .but once your back muscles learn to relax, then by moving the roller up or down the spine, one vertibrae at a time, your back will be magically adjusted. You shall feel an inch taller, and your Chi will be more balanced as you start your day, or night after a nap. If you like to watch TV while lying on the floor. . .try putting a pillow under your head and the Roller under your back. Amazing things will happen, especially if you have been doing manual labor just prior. It stretches your back muscles and gets the kinks out. Don't try to rush it. It takes a minimum of 15 minutes for my muscles to release and to let-go stored tension. The Roller sure beats taking pills for stiff muscle pain. Tension headaches are a thing of the past for me. All I need is some quality time with he Roller. It scores 5 Stars in my book. Don't leave home without it, but also don't leave it someplace while you are away. It is truly addictive! Only thing that works!
High quality and smooth wood, shaped to fit just right around my spine and get deep into the muscle tissue. I use my breath a lot each time I move it and the tension and pain slowly leaves with each exhale. I had never seen or heard of one of these before I bought it. I can do all sorts of slow and controlled, safe strength building movements by putting my hands on it while sitting on the floor.

Beautiful, BUT.....
Like many my original Ma roller disappeared in a move. Was excited to get this one. I am 67, and have practiced yoga since age 19, taught for 10 years. I am for reference, 5.2, 130 lbs., female and very fit. Besides yoga, I have also been a walker since that same age. I do agility with 2 of my dogs. Not bragging, but saying that I know my body well. This really is a beautiful piece of wood but not at all correct in the middle where the spine needs to rest. Tried it twice. Slowly and not much pressure. It hurt afterward, and did not feel a correct "release". I'll stick with my yoga, our inversion table and other things I know will not hurt me. Another addition is I have NO structural problems, nor any back or neck issues. However I might if I continued this. Thanks for reading and be careful with anything that involves the spine. My cousin in law, who is certified in many types of yoga, including "Therapeutic Yoga", said "Send it BACK". So back it goes.

I own a Ma roller and bought the Earthlite
I have owned Ma rollers for 20 or 30 years and love it. I have bought many Ma rollers because every girlfriend I have had over the years has always taken my roller with her when we have split up. Two weeks ago I let a girlfriend with sore back muscles try my Ma roller, and she really liked it so I offered to buy her a roller and have it shipped to us in the Czech Republic. I bought the Earthlite because I was curious to see if it was the same as the Ma roller. I must say that while the Earthlite works in a similar manner to the Ma roller, unfortunately, to me it is like the difference between buying a high quality tool and a cheap one. The Earthlite is a little smaller, the wood is a much lighter weight, the lacquer finish is not polished smooth to the touch and it does not have the pleasant wood smell of the Ma roller. While it is functional, it does not have the same intangible spiritual energy that the Ma roller has. I don't have the same pleasure of holding a quality product when I touch it or pick it up, and as well I will not have the same joy in giving it, knowing that I not giving something that is truly as special to me as the Ma roller is.

Amazing deep tissue release
The very best way to relieve huge knots in your back. I’ve been using one of these for over 2 decades, and gifted one to each of my twins. Relieves muscle spasm, helps to re-align the back between chiropractic visits. Deep pressure - hurts in a good way! Helps with headaches caused by tension. Made of solid maple - not compressed wood fibers. Smooth and very sturdy.

Excellent deep-massage therapy for back issues.
I had a similar one decades ago, left it somewhere, then finally decided I needed another. One must be patient; settle into it gently with no rush, as the back muscles gradually release and 'open up' to accept this highly effective tool. .

Totally misleading. Not at all like the picture advertised. In no way therapeutic. Not rounded as should be. Sharp and painful.
