Helluva lot of fun, but no cheap toy. Highly recommended!
I've had this for a couple or three weeks, and it's nothing but a total blast! Kill-zone-reducers? Some may think of them more as "ego-reducers". When you get down to that 1/4" opening, you had better be a REALLY good shooter. It's great, though, that you can choose your own challenge level & get better. First I was surprised at the weight of the target as it is made of sturdy 1/8" steel. Assembly was a snap and took only a few minutes to complete. The reset pull-cord is a braided nylon cord that will stand the test of time, but is also easily replaced when the time comes. The pull-cord comes wrapped around a metal, hollow "bow tie" for wrapping and storage (nice touch). To use the target without it falling over, you will need to use the included 4 metal stakes; all well and good if you are setting the target on soft ground, but an issue on hard surfaces or rocky ground. To make it easier to use on virtually any terrain, I simply took a 12" x 12" piece of plywood, screwed on some edging, and drilled holes to accommodate four small bolts. I attach the target to the board using the bolts and wing nuts. This setup also manages to catch the pellets that drop for collection and safe disposal (hence the board edging). As I use this target exclusively with lead pellets, I can keep my grounds relatively free of spend lead rounds. For paint touch-ups (with high gloss Rustoleum or the like), the contraption is easy to disassemble, paint and reassemble. A bit of oil on the springs and hinges, and you're set. Fun to use, and great feedback for good marksmanship. As your skills improve (or the accuracy of your airgun), you can make it more challenging 1/4 of an inch at a time. Note: Though I've used this well with both myBenjamin Trail NP All Weather .177 cal Nitro Piston Pellet Air Rifle and myUmarex USA 2252267 Browning 800 Express .22 Pistol , is doesn't work well with my less powerfulCrosman 3576 Semi-Auto CO2 Powered Pellet Revolver with 6-Inch Barrel . Shoot well and, as always, shoot safe.

Good Targets, Cheap Hardware, You Get What You Pay For
Bought four of these for backyard shooting. I agree with all of the +'s other reviewers have mentioned. Once I fixed the targets up, they work fine. These words of caution to prospective buyers: A high or magnum powered air rifle will beat up the steel in the targets. I don't shoot these targets with my .22 R1 @19ft lbs . However, my next most powerful gun, my .22 HW50S @ 12 ft lbs, does not seem to damage the steel--although 40' is the closest I've set them for shooting with this rifle. The steel in the hardware is made of incredibly low grade steel. The threads on the two bolts used to fasten the cutout to the hinge fail during initial assembly. The washer fasteners on the linkage pins fall off without warning. I replaced all if them with 4x12mm bolts and lock nuts and washers. So be prepared to spend a few dollars for better bolts, nuts and washers. Fortunately the large bolt and the spring and spring bolt have not failed--yet. The spring bolt is fastened with the same type of cheap washer fastener as is on the two smaller bolts on the target linkage--which fell off very quickly. The metal stakes for fastening the target to the ground are too flimsy and too short. As others have suggested, I mounted the targets to 2 x10" boards. So then there's another expense, as well as finding metric nuts and bolts of sufficient size and length. I couldn't find the length I needed in metric and so I had to enlarge the holes on the base of the targets and use standard bolts available in the US. Do not buy this target unless you are prepared to spend similar time and trouble. The targets will not last if assembled with the hardware out of the box. It would have been much easier for me to pay a few bucks more and buy heavier targets right at the beginning as I had to do for my R1. I will not buy any Gamo air gun product in the future. For me Gamo = Cheaply Made

Not entirely satisfied
To begin with, the target seems sturdy enough to last for years. The design seems to have been around for decades. There's a large black squirrel with a round hole you shoot through. There's a yellow piece behind the hole that is held upright by a magnet. When a pellet strikes it with sufficient force to to disengage the magnet,it all falls down. There's sturdy string that pulls it back up again and you're good to go again. My lack of complete satisfaction comes from the fact that at 10 yards, my Daisy 953 sometimes lacks sufficient force to knock everything down. But sometimes it does. I suppose the Daisy's relatively mild velocity must strike the yellow "kill zone" in just the right place. I have not yet tried my R7 which has greater velocity, but I assume I won't have problems with it. I read one review in which someone said a Red Ryder BB gun knocked the target down at 25 feet. That has not been my experience, although to be sure I have no intention of shooting a BB gun at a metal target. As others have mentioned pellets knock the paint off and that must be replaced. That's to be expected. Even though I don't get all the falls I have deserved with my 953, I still enjoy shooting it and suspect I'll not have a problem with the R7

reset time and time again
This reset target works great. Stake it down and run the string back to shooting position and just shoot it all day and never get up to stand it back up. Worked flawlessly time and time again. This has held up to my 1000fps .177 PCP with no dings or dents. More powerful guns may cause damage (your probably safe with a .22 PCP but anything larger will leave damage). Paint is taking a beating but a rattle can of black and yellow will solve that issue. Take care of this target (lube the pivot points once in a while and bring it in after shooting) and it should last a lifetime.

Good product
Well made and functions perfectly. It's meant to be shot with a low to mid range power airgun though, highest power would be something like a .177 cal gun rated at 1000 fps or a .22 cal rated at 800 fps. My .22 cal RWS 350 Magnum started bending the Squirrel silhouette after a dozen shots as well as putting dents in it that bulge out the back side at a distance of 20 yards. My Gamo Hunter 220 in .177 cal does no serious damage to it at 20 yards but might at closer ranges. I have a Crosman 1322 modded to go 495 fps, and it has enough impact power to knock it down at 20 yards with a hit on the yellow bullseye. This is a fun target.
