This was my first fitness watch. Just wanted the most basic and cheap. TLDR: it’s been relatively ok and can’t complain since price was so cheap. Far as the renewed aspect, the watch came looking very new, I wouldn’t have been able to tell you if used or new. Battery wise, however,I’ve been experiencing problems. I’d charge at night and when I take off in the morning, it says no battery and needs charging, then I have to plug the charger back in and take out, and then it says 100%. Not sure if software or hardware. After first 10 days or so of use, I’m noticing my battery is running out much much faster. When I first got, I thought would last me a few days between charges, but now, I see the longest it will last is 2 days. If I work out both days, won’t last even the 2 days and would need a charge on the second day even without gps or music. Im not sure if this is normal for this model or if it’s a refurbish issue. I suspect this watch won’t last too long because of this battery life issue. But I intended for it to be my first introduction to see if fitness watches would be useful to me at all. So far, it’s serving that purpose but I suspect it won’t last half a year due to this battery issue. I bought because I wanted a cheap watch with basic but reliable functions, I considered returning due to the battery issues that are not instilling confidence, but since replace option doesn’t seem available, only return option available, and because I don’t see any other substitute in this price range with this many features and Garmin sensor reliability, obverse made up my mind to use it until it stops working, not worth the hassle of returning for me. Since I’ve gotten more used to the watch functionality, I’ve gotten quite attached to it, replaced the horrible strap which has that annoying locking nub on the second loop that made the watch feel so horrible to put on or take off, and got a cheap stretchy nylon band on Amazon, much better. I found HR seems very accurate and fast. Functions took a long time to get used to, but since I have gotten used to, feel fine. Downloading music apps was horrible. If any problems power cycle the watch and it will start again. If any problems with this watch first snd foremost power cycle. Seems to fix a lot of issues. Deezer and Spotify needs sub fees, so I downloaded Amazon music instead since I’ve got prime. Trying to download a playlist takes forever, think maybe half an hour, but once done, no problems. Paired with Bluetooth easily. So far, I’m liking the Garmin way of doing things once I got used to it. I mean the quality sensors, no nonsense aspects, no subscriptions required, etc., But battery is concerning and if this watch finally dies a few months down the road, because the renewed price and flash deal price was so good, I don’t think I can complain much. If it lasts me 6 months, for what I paid, I’ll think I’ve gotten my moneys worth, and I’ll likley look for a similar replacement but maybe a newer model just for the increased battery. In a nutshell, basic functional smart watch that feels like a very good value if price is factored in. Suspect battery.
