Stable and fun
My son is 7 and uncomfortable with the height of a normal bike, has big worries about balance and getting hurt... this was our option to keep him riding a bike and still feel 'cool' until he is ready for a 'normal' bike. He loves it

Big Person Trike
Well this is a lot larger than I ever imagined. Purchased for my 7 year old, he is no where near big enough to be able to ride this. I think it will be several years before he can try again. My daughter who is 5ft tall, is just able to reach the pedals. Me, nearing 6 ft tall, fits comfortably. I modified the seat base with two new holes at least three inches forward of the closest setting and still have at least 2-3inches for the 7 year old to touch ( who is considered average height for his age). Kinda bummed that I have to find a way to store it, hopefully he won’t lose his enthusiasm over this type of trike in the next few years.

This is not the green machine of 40 years ago. It's much better.
Some notes on this. I had a big green machine when I was a kid. It was made of plastic and I beat the crap of it on the hills when I lived in Puerto Rico. It was awesome but it was not built to last. When they say they don't build things to last anymore they are wrong. The old green machine was all plastic including the main wheel The new one is steel with an inflatable main tire The old one was a competitor against the big wheel. This is a serious three wheel tricycle. The back wheels are still plastic and you can still spin and drift on it. The wheels are much thicker and you can easily replace them. You could not replace them in the old version. It cost about the same as it did 40 years ago and is built much better. The biggest drawback is you probably need to be around 53 inches tall to reach the pedals properly. They make a smaller model but she would not have been able to grow into it. I will add blocks to the pedals to make it work for her. I basically was expecting what I had 40 years ago. I was pleasantly surprised.

My daughter picked this particular "bike"
The green machine is a substantial machine. It is definitely big enough for my 10 year old to enjoy for a few years and so far seems pretty rugged. I am not crazy about the placement of the levers, they seem to be "in the way" a bit. However, after a few minutes my daughter got used to the steering and was having fun. It is a little difficult for her to get the machine going if she has to stop, then restart when she is on an incline, but that isn't the worst thing in the world. I got a huge discount when I bought it so I am very happy with the bang for the buck! The front wheel had a cut when we bought it so we had to wait for a replacement bike, but customer service was very accommodating and made the exchange fairly easy, and quick!

Beware if you have a kid on the shorter side! We had a lot of tears on our kiddo’s birthday :( :( :(
My son asked for this for his 9th birthday because one of his buddies has one and he loves riding at his house. Clearly they have made some weird adjustments on this newer model (his friend’s is a couple years old), because when we assembled it and set the seat to the position for the shortest reach to the peddles my son couldn’t reach the peddles! We had to drill additional holes into the front edge of the seat plate, buy new bolts (because the new holes We had to drill aren’t threaded) and grind down the front lip of the seat so that it could overlap the black plastic “thing” that covers the upper portion of the center bar near the handles. It says it is for 8 years old +, but if your kid isn’t in at least the 80th percentile for height they won’t be able to peddle the thing. If we had bought this for our son for his 8th birthday, even after the Jerry-rigging we did, he still would’ve been too short to ride it. As of now...he can ride it and has fun, but the peddle reach is still a bit too long. My son is 52” tall.

Good for those right age
This is a nice bike that would be fun! But it’s not designed for kids, it is too big. I’m 5’ and it fits me. My 8 year old can’t reach the pedals.

Easy to assemble
Good instructions and limited assembly. Looks just like the the picture and works great. Adjustable seat for different ages.

Split in the tyre
Too big for a 7yr old. Unable to put together alone had to be held by someone for me to put together and finally once together I found the tyre had a split in it unable to pump it up. Not happy

I’ve ordered three of these for my kids, they’re such good quality and great fun. Easy to assemble too. Big thumbs up xx
