Love the lock feature

Had 2 of these so far, and I keep coming back. 1st one got lost. 2nd one ripped the tape (my fault). 3rd one (current) working well. No issues with the lock feature like others. But agree, the tape does come ripping back in a hurry. Good overall.

So far so good...

I bought this to replace an old tape measure that had stopped retracting. It does the job just fine. It extends, it locks, it measures, and it retracts. Does what a tape measure is supposed to do and is inexpensive enough that if it breaks in a few months I won't be too upset. Overall a good value.

Very useful tool.

I have been a carpenter for over 40 years and have purchased many of these tapes in the past. In fact they are the only tapes I have purchased for quite a while. They aren't perfect because as some of the lower ratings have mentioned they will get quirky and not work as intended but because of the amount of different brands of tape measures that I have used in the past these ones hold up for the longest time .and are compact enough to sit in your nail belt without the bulk and weight of many other brands.

Love these tapes!

Have always used the self retracting tapes where you had to manually lock them. It's so great not having to worry about the tape snapping back because the end wasn't secure. It takes a little getting use to working backwards, pushing the button to extend / retract the tape, but it doesn't take long before you really appreciate the difference. The tape is easily readable. Not sure about how long the self locking mechanism will last, but so good, so far.

Easy to retract and stays in place when pulled out. Durable and goes to 25 feet.

Dealing With the Lock Feature

My tape was not locking after some usage. I assumed it was a defect in the tape. However, I found that I was misusing it and causing it not to lock properly. The locking feature depends on the rewind using the automatic rewind button to retract. However, I was occasionally pushing the tape back into the cassette manually which created some slack internally which resulted in the lock feature failing to work properly. To correct this I extended the tape to it's maximum length and rewound it using the retract button. Viola, this cured the locking problem. Maybe most of you out there already knew this, but I was never aware of how this was supposed to be used.

Great Bang for the Buck

This seems to be quality. It certainly feels like it. We've had one in our office for about two months now and no issues. I certainly don't mind buying more of these to spread around the office at this cost. Far less expensive than my craftsman and still does the job. Every one likes the yellow tape as well.

Very smooth and great quality

I love Komelon tapes. I grabbed this for my work bag as I travel for work. Light weight and just as sturdy as the bigger tapes without the bulk and weight. Lovely to use, smooth and does not jam.

Great tape as long as you don't need metric measurements.

Tape is well constructed and easy to read. No metric scale so tape is 100% imperial and easy to make from either side. Love the self-locking feature. Great value for $20 for a 25' tape.

Good tape

absolutely love it. I work with tape everyday. They do break, but after a long use and abuse. I like the new tape I got-retracts so smoothly. I like the slim profile.

Bit weird in its function. Thoughts it’d be cool and turns out it’s a bit odd. Also doesn’t stay out very well so kinda useless.
